It is a quirky place that's been here for many years and its positive reputation means that the flow of customers can be brisk. I have never really understood its name other than it is on Queen street, but why the Queen mother? She was a lovely lady but with that name I would have expected dainty afternoon teas on... More

My first afternoon in Toronto I went searching for healthy food and ended up at the Queen Mother Cafe. I was able to occupy a small table and linger over my quinoa salad and spring rolls and no one moved me along or tried to make me feel unwelcome. The rest of the menu looked so good that I went... My husband and I went looking for a quaint restaurant while in Toronto. Queen Mother Cafe was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed. Our food was some of the best we have had in years. Our only disappointment is that we were too full to sample one of their delicious looking desserts.

The menu is varied and unique, the Ravioli special I had was excellent. Great location on Queen Street close enough to tourist places but not like any other place in Toronto. Service was very good and fun atmosphere. Well worth the visit and will certainly go again.

I accidentally passed by with a friend and we decided to eat there. We had an incredible seafood curry, and make sure to check their desserts, too!

Me and my friend had quinoa salad here with grilled chicken. The food was good and tasty. The staff was helpful and smiling.

This restaurant does not look particularly inviting from the front. However, it had a sign advertising a back patio. The patio is accessed by going through the restaurant and then downstairs and back up to the back patio. It is a very nice and rather quiet enclosed patio. We had tea and dessert. The lemon coconut cake was excellent and... More

Our host suggested this place while we were in Toronto and we were not disappointed. I had the Thai dish (forget the name) but it was tasty as was the guac appetizer. Friendly good service at very reasonable prices. They don't take reservations but we were seated quickly. Nice interior sitting, meant to check out the patio, but we sat... More

We were looking for a patio in the downtown area and this place came to mind, I had not been there in years, The patio is good, in the back of the building, a bit odd to go down the stairs and then back up. Service was courteous and friendly. The clientèle is a mix of tourists, locals, and lots... More

Four of us came for a business lunch on a Wednesday around 12:30. We did not have to wait for a table on the patio, despite the gorgeous weather. We were served promptly and efficiently. Our server helped customize our pad thai order to fit spice tolerance and dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
