Overlooking the Lake, this restaurant serves dim sum in traditional style. The dim sum was delicious, fresh, and served at the right temperature. However, the waitress' were pretty rude, short, and almost as if we were a bother. We had the fried shrimp which was excellent, BBQ pork bau, stuffed eggplant, noodles with vegetables, and sesame balls.

Overlooking Lake Ontario out to Toronto Island, it has a great view of passing boat adventurers. The food is reasonably prices and excellent quality. We ordered of the Menu but there was a Lunch Special on offer and also a Dim Sum choice.

The best selling point of this restaurant is the location. On the second floor of that building facing the Inner Harbour, you will want to sit there all day long if you get a window seat. The food, especially the combo menu are mostly westernized. Dimsim is fine but I wouldn't say it is the best in town. If you... More

We have been past this restaurant many times without stopping for a meal. On the suggestion of friends, we set out to have lunch there on a recent trip to Toronto. We were very pleasantly surprised! A very nice restaurant setting overlooking the lake, it was a most pleasant place for lunch. The efficient, professional wait staff added to the... More

Waited at least an hour for our food and it was worse than Chinese food in a shopping mall but much more expensive. After we were given our drinks our waiter disappeared until after our food FINALLY arrived by the host. The table behind us had exactly the same experience. Hot and sour soup was basically a cheap super thick... More

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law took us to Pearl for Dim Sum during our visit to Toronto. We went on a Sunday. My sister-in-law had requested for a window table in her reservations. Hence, we had a lovely view of the lake and the activities outside as it was a sunny day. Dim Sum was ok in my opinion. My sister-in-law... More

Make sure you get a table by the window to view Toronto's Harborfront view. This restaurant knows it's dumplings! The freshest best steamed dumplings around. Great Chinese tea- a detail many Chinese restaurants don't think about. Professional & friendly staff finish off a well rounded & superb dining experience.

There are many fantastic places north of the 401 for dim sum. But if you crave "very good" dim sum downtown, options are limited. With a beautiful view of the harbourfront and water, for those who are visiting Toronto or living downtown, this is a very decent option. With a wide range of dishes that circulate on carts and a... We have not eaten at the pearl for 20 years. The queens key building used to be one of the premier building s in toronto. Not today the building is run down dirty and in huge need of repairs. The one thing it does have is the view Staff very nice, so we're the appatizers. Main course a chicken dish... More

This restaurant is conveniently located in one of the most scenic areas in town, which gives diners great opportunity to enjoy the lake view while savoring the beautifully steamed and baked dim sum dishes. The quality of food here is quite high, compare to some other places we've been to. It's clean, bright, and service is efficient. I'm normally not... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
