Pros: 1. Great service 2. Beautiful venue - flooring, chandeliers, stain glass windows... a cross between a church and a high end banquet room 3. Good Menu - I believe that it changes weekly - caters to vegetarians as well - Canadiana/Continental Euro fare 4. tasty food - very fresh, vibrant, presented beautifully, a little lacking in seasoning, but well... Went here on a Tuesday and had their special. Moroccan Lamb stew with couscous! It was superb - best lamb I've ever had. The dessert was creme brûlée that was simply the best. The sweating was awe inspiring and I highly highly recommend this place if you get the chance. The service was very good and put you at ease.

This restaurant is located inside Osgoode Hall. The building itself is quite beautiful. The restaurant is located on the second floor. It is only open for Lunch Mondays to Fridays and it is closed in the summer months. You need to go through metal detectors to get inside the building, but this is fast and painless. The restaurant occupies a... More

There's a reason why 2/3rds of reviewers rate this spot Excellent. Service, food, ambiance are all exceptional. I had the veal as part of the prix fixe lunch and I'm still raving about it to friends (and you) a week later. Only open for lunch, don't miss this spot. I'd waited for years to visit until last week, now looking... More

After enjoying the statue, mosaic tile floors, and glass ceiling in the rest of the building and the flower and tree gardens outside, my friend and I went to the restaurant, where we had made prior reservations for around 12:45pm, so it might be past the peak lunch crowd. Look online to see what the fixed price menu is for... More

Visited when my wife and kids came to work with me. The setting is beautiful in the historic Osgoode Hall. The servers are excellent and complement the great food.

The restaurant at Osgoode Hall had been on my list of places I wanted to see, like, forever, so when a couple of my foodie friends suggested we meet there for lunch, I was delighted. The experience didn't disappoint. The menu - so many local offerings! - was varied, and interesting. Our server was very knowledgeable, knew when to approach... More

We came here through the recommendation of our concierge, who knew the manager. We though it'd be something different so we tried it. A little apprehensive at first about eating the 'cafeteria' where all the barristers eat, but we were so pleasantly surprised! The food was good, atmosphere not as formal as one would imagine. The walls were lined with... More

We 7 of us went to this restaurant this Friday. As it was the court house, we had to go thorough security check. The food was very good and tasty. I ordered Chef's menu : soup/salad, main course & dessert for $24. This Friday's main course was Pan Seared Arctic Char and the soup was tomato with ginger and the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
