Another seafood place, another plate of fish & chips? Not quite. Like any self-respecting seafood restaurant they don’t have fish & chips. They have cod & chips, halibut & chips, haddock & chips. And, these are GOOD fish & chips. In our Friday lunch special ($8.95) the fish was New Zealand Hake with a crispy thin batter and moist interior.... More

Love this place! I come here about 3-4 times a month. I came in on Sat and the line up out the door. I had a friend with me and we requested a table for two and were seated immediately. The prime tables for 4 people were in demand and scarce that night. The price is great and the fish... More

We have dined in Olde Yorke a couple of times and we always order the fish and chips. It is a Mum & Pop Fish and Chips restaurant with great food and service. There is plenty of sitting too. The last time we went, we ordered the fisherman's platter for sharing, calamari and salad and clam chowder. We also ordered... More

What's not to love? Fish and chips are great, but so is everything on the menu. Even the mushy peas lol. This isn't fine dining, but that's not what you're going for. Great place for family and friends.

We had the platter and an order of Haddock & chips! The food was perfectly cooked, and the serving size was generous. Often there are more chips than fish but we found the fish to be a good balance alongside coleslaw and beautiful soft fresh bread. The desserts were calling but neither of us had any room left... I can... More

Probably the best fish and chips I've had outside of the UK, the only thing missing is the old traditional way of having them wrapped in newspaper! We only had a short weeks stay in Toronto and were recommended to visit and I'm truly glad I made the time to visit. Thank You

Staying in East York

Neighborhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
