The absolute best fish and chips that I've ever had, period. My partner and I had a strong craving for some fish and chips after a morning of exploring downtown Toronto. Did a quick google search for "Best fish and chips in Toronto," and Olde Yorke Fish & Chips was the first option that came popped up. We came a... More

My wife took me here for lunch as we have moved from the UK and have now been in Toronto for some 3 months. Miss my local Fish & Chippie but this place does make very good Cod & Chips. The batter is different but still very tasty. will come back from time to time.

Beware, it's busy. But, that's a good sign. We go around 3pm on a Saturday and that's usually a good time. However, even when there's a long line-up, it moves really fast. The food is fabulous and the service is fast and friendly.

Exceptionally light batter separate this Fish from many others. A bust spot in Leaside where finding parking is the biggest challenge you will face. My East Coast friends all agree this is the best they have tasted.

This was the best fish and chips that I've ever had. The halibut was fabulous. The chowder was very good, as was the Greek salad. The onion rings were incredible as well.

Located in the light industrial area of Laird Drive, one wouldn't expect to find the best British food in the city. With the ambience of an upscale Victorian parlour, Olde Yorke provides a full selection of great fish and chips along with traditional favourites like mushy peas and trifle. I done at least weekly. Try to arrive early for dinner... More

Olde Yorke is a great place to eat fish and chips. Their fish is always fresh and tasty and their home made chips are delicious. Love their mushy peas too. Great place for take out food. Thumbs up!!

ate lunch with a friend. We both had clam chowder, he had fisherman's platter (Halibut, shrimp, scallops) and I had halibut and chips.. Soup was very nice, and fish was good. Batter is not the light kind but a little heavier. Good service, reasonable price. A very nice lunch. It is quite busy and we waited for a table. My... More

Heard all the raves about the chippy so being good Brits visiting this area we went for supper. My wife walks with 2 canes and we were appalled to see a disabled sign and ramp saying only for wheel chairs !!! So she had a few stairs to take and then move a curtain out of the way to get... More

Staying in East York

Neighborhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
