and that is rare in the city as Torontonians may attest it... Excellent quality ingredients, nicely prepared and sometimes hand crafted dishes. A bit of Japanese atmosphere; you may even opt for traditional Japanese arrangements in separate rooms. Closed on Sunday, dinner only on Saturday.

Helpful kimono clad waitresses advising on food and drinks, excellent sushi and sashimi, great sake all made our dinner memorable. Considering the quality price was reasonable. Wasn't sure if two would finish the bottle of sake, and it went down down so smoothly with the sushi.

Good service, and excellent, fresh sashimi, cut in the true Japanese style. Chirashi was served in a square lacquer dish, nice display, and the fish was one of the best I have ever had. We sat in a small booth, which made for a nice romantic, private dining. They offer several sake tastings, all were very good, especially the Nigori.... More

Located in downtown Toronto, Nami is a quaint little sushi restaurant that has a lot to offer. If you can, request a booth. They are more private and make for an enjoyable experience. My friend had a saki flight which she loved. We both ordered an array of food including nigiri, hand rolls and sashimi. All of it was great.... More

Went here with a co-worker for lunch. The place was pretty packed for lunch (I think partly due to summerlicious). Unfortunately, as I was there for work, I couldn't do the summerlicious menu. I ordered the Sushi Special Lunch combo and was pleased with what I received. It is just like the picture in the menu, which for lunch meant... More

My 7 year old daughter commented that she felt like she was back in Japan again. We had the Robata course dinner and every course was perfection. The fish was grilled to a point where it holds its flavor but melts in your mouth. Our kids had Japanese fried chicken (tori karaage), beef udon noodle soup (niku udon), and cucumber... More

I have been coming here solo, with friends, and for business since I got out of University and could afford to dine out. It's been a hallmark of consistency throughout this time period. I have never had a bad experience, always above average to excellent every time no matter if it a weekday business lunch, dinner date, or high quality... More

The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Nami' s menu has a wide variety and so offers a great opportunity to try dishes you won't find in many other Japanese restaurants. The kimono clad staff was especially pleasant. The tatami rooms are very charming; but you should make reservations to get one.

From the moment we waIked in the service was great. Our food came quickly, and our waitress was always around when we needed her. So I feel really conflicted writing the next part. I found this restaurant on a Toronto top sushi list on yelp... but I was disappointed maybe I should have know when we walked in and the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
