I went to this restaurant based on a personal recommendation. The buffet layout is very well done and asthetically appealing. Aside from the layout, the service was outstanding. You are greeted at the door with a sincere welcome followed by constant attention ftom the wait staff. The food was fine....perhaps I expected better based upon the recommendation I received but... This restaurant get my full two thumbs up. The food was very delicious! The food was the best of all the Mandarin's we've been to. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the smoked salmon and torpedo shrimp. I loved the peppered steak and the prime rib. All done to perfection. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The desert table... well... More

Something has gone terribly wrong with this buffet. $30/person? Really? Don't you know this is a Chinese buffet (Maybe one of the better ones) but that is crazy. 4 people $120. I took my family(4) to a Chinese restaurant 2wks ago $56 stuffed and brought some home. Having said that there's something for everyone and if the price doesn't bother... More

This is a very busy restaurant and often the wait is long (usually worth it). However, we now order for pick up and eat in the comfort of our home instead. We order exactly what we want and then don't over eat as we would at the buffet. It's a great option!

This is the third Mandarin we've visited-Hamilton, Oshawa and now Scarborough. The buffet was in a different order than the others and was also missing the great BBQ ribs I love. They told me they were only served on the dinner menu and we were there for lunch. My husband's niece and her daughter were visiting from Halifax for the... More

I had high expectations from what some locals told me about this buffet and i really liked it once there. You have a lot of variety, delicious dishes and you can try everything to satisfy any whim. The Mandarin Shrimps are not on the buffet, but you can ask for them a la carte, and they are delicious!! Highly recommended.

Adore going to the Mandarin when I'm visiting mum in Toronto. Loads of choices all freshly made and friendly staff - what's not to like! Especially as I had a 'surprise birthday party' there this time for my 50th!

A bit pricy but can consider in terms of the great food quality. If going to celebrate any birthday, Inform them in advance, they will come up with their group of ppl along with Birthday... More

Staying in Scarborough

Neighborhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
