I happen to work in customer service for a luxury brand. The group of ten of us were sent to the restaurant to rate of experience and then present our experience to a seminar of 200 people. From the moment I entered to the moment I left, I was not only impressed but felt at home. The food was fantastic,... More

Located at th corner of Davenport and Avenue in Toronto, this restaurant has been around for deacdes and somehow I managed to miss it, an error marvellously corrected this November. The building is non-descript. The door is well beyond my ability to describe. You have to see it. How they managed to decorate with paintings of nearly naked women, dried... More

Haven't been to Joso's for many years but decided to celebrate our anniversary there. Got there a bit early when it was quite quiet there so one may one want to consider this when booking a reservation. Things have not changed over the years. The food and service was excellent. I realize that this is an upscale restaurant in the... More

Joso's is a mainstay for the Toronto fine dining scene. The seafood is prepared perfectly and the service is very attentive, without being overbearing or pompous. Would have to agree that the flavour & presentation of the sides do not match up to the seafood, so that's why it would not receive excellent. Obviously some patrons have $$$ to make... More

Excellent seafood. Select a whole fish to be prepared on a grill. Sit upstairs, very intimate space. Be prepared for excellent service.

2 of us for dinner on a Friday evening - seated promptly, pleasant and efficient staff - went through the ceremony of studying the fish on offer and chose one to share - they cooked it perfectly and it was a great experience - the reason for marking down slightly is that the rest of the food was mediocre to... Went to Josos recently with 2 other couples, the food is spectacular, the mushroom risotto is incredible, we had a couple of apps, shrimp, octopus and a tomato and boconchini salad, the fish we had was fresh and tasty, grilled with olive oil and sea salt. We had a sole, seabream and a mediterranean sea bass, all this accompanied with... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
