2 of us for dinner on a Friday evening - seated promptly, pleasant and efficient staff - went through the ceremony of studying the fish on offer and chose one to share - they cooked it perfectly and it was a great experience - the reason for marking down slightly is that the rest of the food was mediocre to... Went to Josos recently with 2 other couples, the food is spectacular, the mushroom risotto is incredible, we had a couple of apps, shrimp, octopus and a tomato and boconchini salad, the fish we had was fresh and tasty, grilled with olive oil and sea salt. We had a sole, seabream and a mediterranean sea bass, all this accompanied with... More

Dined in Joso's in Toronto last night. It's an interesting place, seems tiny when you walk in, but like the Tardis bigger than you think. Service good food excellent if you want fish. Lots of interesting artwork to prompt conversation. A but tight space wise at the table but all in all a very enjoyable night.

If your looking for a fish dinner this is the restaurant. I was impressed with all the dishes we ordered. Lots of sharing dishes. Also, has a large selection of fresh fish you can choose from. Will definitely return!

Joso's has been a fixture in Toronto since the 1960's, starting as a Coffee House, then adding food, ans since their move quite some time ago they are now a full fledged restaurant. I hadn't been to Joso's since they moved to their 202 Davenport Road location and, when some friends from out of town wanted to meet for Friday... More

Q. What if you could put a restaurant in time capsule? A. You shouldn't but if you did you would have Joso's. I remember coming here in my 20's for a "fancy" night out and possibly to see a celebrity. 20 years on not much has changed. To be fair the food isn't bad it's just overpriced and really not... Food tastes better when consumed in great surroundings. Not that Joso's food needed to be improved in any way, the whole atmosphere just made our experience fantastic. There was perfection in everything - amount of salt, lemon juice, spice, freshness and consistency of seafood that we have ordered. Insalata di mare was to die for. Fish was fresh boca negra... This restaurant was suggested by the concierge at our hotel, and he was spot-on in his recommendation. From the moment we walked through the doors, I knew this was going to be an exceptional evening. For starters, it is raucously intimate; all the patrons were thoroughly enjoying themselves. The wait staff was impeccable. And the menu....well, that's what sold us... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
