I booked a reservation for my husband and I for July 9th for his birthday and informed the girl over the phone of the occasion. She was very nice. I also requested a window seat and she said they would try to accommodate this request. We arrived to the restaurant about 10 minutes early and were seated by a window... More

First of all: love restaurants that take reservations (being from Vancouver, the land of line ups for everything). Our table was ready, our hostess was very friendly and water was brought promptly. The tables were a little closer together than I would have liked for privacy, but the ambiance was great, the bar was nice appointed and music was great... More

This is an increasingly well-known, upbeat brunch cafe that also does good, fast lunches. The vibe is fun and pretty noisy, the menu is creative and delivers. The smoked chicken and avocado sandwich is tasty and filling; my friends swear by the Insomnia Burger. Lots of salads (arugula, kale) and much more. Fast, courteous service rounds out an excellent find... More

Came here early on a Saturday morning and was lucky enough to get a table - apparently the place fills up fast on weekends. Ordered the standard eggs benny and really enjoyed it. Was pleasantly surprised to see how generous the side portions were. Come hear if you want a cozy spot to eat trendy breakfast food.

Great food, great buzz, great beer/drinks menu. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite before hitting Hotdocs cinema. ..

My wife and I found this spot randomly during the Taste of Toronto 2015 and NBA All-Star Weekend 2016. The wings are great (to be in Canada), and we love the old school hip-hop music they play. In general, this is a great "pre-game" or "post-game" stop. Basically, we make sure we stop there every time we go to Toronto:... More

Great atmosphere! Very laid back. Glad I ordered the mini French toast😊 - serving size was lots for me and it was delicious! The coffee here is great - It has cinnamon added giving it a very comforting taste, rather than a sometimes bitter taste. Definitely recommend.

Insomnia is a small place and very popular, expect to wait 30-60 min. for a table, but it's well worth it! The menu has a nice variety, we had Eggs Benedict original with brie and Blueberry/Cream cheese French Toast. Bring a good appetite servings are generous. The eggs were fantastic, a nice spring salad and side potatoes in BBQ sauce,... More

A friend had highly recommended that I visit Insomnia while I was in Toronto for brunch and I did not regret going there. My brother and I went together and we decided to share two dishes: one sweet and one salty. I ordered the french toast that had berries in it and he order the eggs Benedict with smoke salmon... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
