Holt's Cafe is on the top floor of Holt Renfew with a full wall of windows facing Bloor street. Modern with clean lines - it is visually very appealing. We were there for lunch and it was very very good. Not cheap and not expensive - middle of the road pricing. Overall a really nice place to eat.

Met my sister for lunch here last week and when I say it was fabulous I am not exaggerating. She loved her flank steak and I was more than pleased with my caprese sandwich. It was not only fresh tasting but also very satisfying. We thought we were too full to have dessert but our server convinced us to share... More

This is a very high end cafeteria in the basement of the Holt's Centre in midtown. Choose from a limited selection, but all well prepared. The grilled panini are perfect. My wife complained that the salmon was a little salty. But, there is NO BETTER in the area.

I took a work colleague from out of town to Holt's Cafe for lunch. The meal, as usual, was terrific. I had one of their tartines, which is my absolute favourite when I go there. My colleague had a large, fantastic salad, that was still being talked about the next day. It's a really neat, hidden spot that you kind... More

I had a lovely lunch of chicken pot pie and salad. Wonderful pot pie....nicest I've had in a long while. Tasteful, bright surroundings and very nice service. A great spot if you're in the store or nearby......great place to meet friends for a mid-day meal!

This is a great destination when you are in the area. It's bright and elegant, but not too formal. You will see ripped jeans and sneaks (okay - probably designer), next to the grand dames who lunch. Start with one of the house-made juices and if you are feeling it, get the burger. One of the best I've ever had.... More

What a lovely place to meet your girlfriends for lunch or brunch. Make a shopping day out of it and spend the day at Holts or the spa. Menu offering meets all cravings along with some delicious, clean, refreshing juice options. Save room for a cup of java and dessert. Or plan ahead for high tea. Want to save $$... More

I had lunch with a friend a week before Christmas so the cafe was fairly crowded. We opted to sit at the bar, which was comfortable. We shared a breakfasty tartine which was delicious! My friend ordered beet and something juices which I would not have chosen but they were refreshing and filling. The service wasn't perfect but I've found... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
