Good but not great

Needed to grab a bite between meetings, we decided to give HoSu a try. Service was quick and attentive. Menu isn't extensive but has all the basics that the average sushi fan would want. Having eaten a lot of sushi in Vancouver, I use that as my guideline for judging quality -- HoSu is good, but if... read more

Review based on take-out order: I rated HoSu a 4 star because it was better than a 3, but realistically it is probably about a 3.5. One thing that was great right off the bat was their online ordering system. It was very easy, and user-friendly. I was able to order from my phone while walking down the street. The... More

I had a great meal at Hosu on a rainy May Sunday afternoon in Toronto. I was a little skeptical of the menu at first - one the left side are a bunch of Japanese dishes, and on the right, Korean entrees (I am always hesitant about these asian restaurants that serve more than one kind of Asian food). But... More

I have been going to Hosu Bistro for the last ten years. It's not fancy, but it is always crowded. That's because the Sushi is fresh, their Korean dishes amazing, the prices are low and the staff is always friendly.

Found this place just walking back from a day of shopping. Doesn't look much from the outside but service and food is good. Great prices also. Fresh food. We had the udon noodle chicken soup dish and the beef bipbimbap and few side orders...grilled squid...sushi. Friendly staff aswell.

We had a quick lunch with very friendly service. It is a great place for families with older children. Ordered sushi and bento boxes.

I keep going back the last three months in hopes that it will go back to the quality it was, however the quality is not improving. The sashimi just doesn't look fresh- it looks like it has been sitting for a while...the white fish is not quite "white" (it looks old) and the taste is not quite right. I have... More

My main purpose in reviewing Ho Su Bistro is to recommend their house specialty, kam pong gi, a fabulously spicy, deep-fried chicken dish that's basically like General Tso's chicken on steroids. Everything else we sampled on our Wednesday-night visit was fairly run-of-the-mill, and I wasn't that impressed with the freshness of their salmon roe (ikura) sashimi. Ho Su Bistro is... More

I came here to Toronto to visit some friends and this place was suggested by a few that actually lived in Toronto. So I expected to be very satisfied with the quality here, but I wasn't. The sushi here was just, ok. Most of the fish I had didn't have a juicy taste, it almost was a bit dry. I... More
