I'm surprised at the mediocre reviews for this restaurant. We were visiting Toronto for a few days and took our two young children for dinner here. We sat at the sushi bar, which is fun and convenient for kids because you can quickly choose your favorite sushi from the boats floating by. The sushi was delicious, very fresh, and (compared... We actually went here twice during our stay in Toronto. The first evening, we went and got to try the sushi boats, which was a great experience and good value. The second time we went, we actually tried the sushi pizza (recommend salmon AND tuna) which was outstanding, and got some other rolls as well. It was a busy evening,... More

The Hamachi sushis in particular are excellent The hot sake is not so good but does the work Service is very expedient Atmosphere is good with patrons chatting without restraint of even some quite intimate subjects that you would not hear in Paris or Dubai

Four of us went to Fune for dinner. 2 of us ordered sukiyaki, one ordered chicken teriyaki and the 4th ordered Kani salad and dynamite roll. The sukiyaki was priced at 56 dollars for 2 people tasted good but was mostly vegetables primarily cabbage. The chicken teriyaki was a reasonable size. The 9 dollar salad was in a very small... I have been to Fune once before and it was okay. Fast forward a year.... I went again today with a business colleague for lunch and when we walked in the host/manager was on the phone. We waited for a few mins and he wouldn't even acknowledge we are there! 10 mins later, he's still on the phone and we're... More

This is my second visit and both times I was not impressed. We had a reservation for 7 p.m. on Saturday night and when we arrived, their were people waiting to be seated. We waited a good 20 minutes when we had realized nobody was spoken to or acknowledged that were waiting. We sat at the sushi bar where there... More

This place has sushi boats. Very fun experience that you don't get to see a lot in the city of Toronto. Very nice, ambient vibe to this restaurant.

Very cool place with a nice atmosphere and ambiance. They have the little sushi boats that float around a little moat. We sat at the counter around the moat, and they still allowed us to order other things off of the menu in addition to the sushi that we were picking up off the boats. It's moderately pricey but the... More

The sushi and dishes here can be ordered a la carte or from the rotating boats. Everything is freshly prepared and beautifully presented. I particularly recommend the beef carpaccio.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
