For five years, this used to be our 'go-to' restaurant for a lunch time Indian buffet: food selection great, flavours savoury, service very good. We should know having lived in India for several years. However, we returned from Central America this late May and after excitedly going to Dhaba for a treat, we were dumbfounded. Cleanliness gone downhill. Service gone... More

Very conveniently located on King, second floor with views overlooking the street. Started with the Lamb trio - Really Good I had British Style Balti with the husband having the goat, it's on the bone but sooo tasty. Both had great flavour. Service was good too. Would defo go back next time we are in Toronto

We recently visited this place, as it was open till late, and we expected some authentic Indian food, after a long day of site seeing. Food was average but service was really SLOW. It took almost half an hour for meal to come, and kids by that time had started sleeping. Had to get the food packed for hotel. Given... More

Can't say enough about this place. Excellent Indian food prepared with proper spices. Every dish we tasted was superb. Whoever blends the curry and other spices deserves an award. Hot but not too hot. Just perfect. This place is located upstairs on busy King Street. Well worth the climb.

Everything was perfect. The brunch buffet has a large selection of salads and Indian dishes, as well as dessert. Many vegetarian choices. The service was impeccable, waiters were available and attentive. A wonderful experience overall, highly recommended. Come early to beat the crowd :)

No taste/flavour in food. Food was not fresh. They didn't label starter at all & it was hard to predict from the appearance whether it is veg or non veg. The plates were not clean. Poor standard for downtown Toronto.

Dear IJ Naik, We are sorry to hear that your experience was not that great. Will you please advise the details if you went in lunch or dinner. It does look like you went in lunch buffet as you are talking about the labels. To my full understanding all the hot food items do have the clear labels except the... More

Fantastic Indian food. We had two different chicken dishes and it was all excellent. Very reasonable prices for downtown Toronto theatre district.

Lunch buffet is well priced with a big selection. Some not so Indian salad choices are there to satisfy the less adventurous. The rice pudding dessert is worth a try for a change. Turn up just before 12pm to avoid the line for the buffet and get a good table. Book ahead if you are a large group. The restaurant... More

I travel to India several times a year and have for a decade now. I love Indian food. This Lamb Saag was amazing. Better than most and the best I've had outside India. Service was very attentive, but it was a slow Monday crowd.

Friends and I had dinner at Dhaba after our matinee at The Princess of Wales. We arrived just after the restaurant opened. One member of our party had a walker and the waiter helped bring it up the stairs for her and that was great as this restaurant is not disability friendly. Two in the party ordered the $30. Price... Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
