I am a little late on this review ...I have previously reviewed Canoe back in October 2015 as "just ok". The issue had been with my husband's bison rib eye - it was a terrible cut and he was very unhappy with his meal (my meal was great). In any case, I commented on this and was promptly contacted by... Everything about our experience at Canoe was fabulous from start to finish. The view, the ambiance, the food, the drinks and particularly the service were all wonderful. We tried the summerlious dinner menu and I did the wine pairing. All items were delicious and the pairing was very complementary. The staff was very welcoming, attentive and upbeat. My husband was... CANOE is operated by Oliver & Bonacini Restaurant Group and has a long time reputation for fine cuisine. First, you have to try one of their specialty cocktails at the bar before dinner. I brought 3 clients from Paris for dinner and they were thoroughly impressed by the food, service and the VIEW. Canoe is one of the best places... More

Amazing view, good food makes this great place for many occasions. I haven't seen the place in the evening but I can imagine it's would make fantastic background for a romanric dinner. You can make reservation online or on site but I've made mine through TripAdvisor and we got a table within 3 hours on Friday afternoon. Regarding the food,... More

An evening of extraordinary dining with 1st class service. After reading the raving reviews on Trip Advisor and Open Table we knew we wanted to eat at Canoe Restaurant. We were fortunate to able to get reservations for a Monday evening dinner. All other dates we were looking at were booked. We were celebrating our anniversary and upon arriving at... More

My first visit to Canoe for Summerlious. I am from Dallas and heard so much about this restaurant. With my sister and brother in law for lunch. We were seated by the window on a beautiful sunny day over looking Lake Ontario with a pic a boo view of the CN tower. We ordered Stoufville duck terrine, Hanover beef bavette,... More

Stylish and friendly restaurant with incredible views over Toronto and Lake Ontario. A carefully thought out menu and I would have liked to try every single one of the starters - I had the gem lettuce, another guest had the mushroom soup, and another the fois gras teamed with marshmallow of all things - all were imaginative, delicious and with... Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
