we went there for summerliscious, after a long time. The food was good but the service was not as good as I thought it should be.

We opted for the summerlicious menu last night before our Massey Hall concert & it was first class & great value. We started w tempura prawns & Thai rolls, for mains muscovy duck & flat iron steak and finished w chai tea chocolate mousse. They had a great promotion if you purchased wine w dinner, an Elmwood spa gift card... More

Admittedly we only had appetizers and drinks, but the menu wasn't exciting and the service was very slow despite not being busy. We should have known it was less than great when it was super easy to get a patio spot on a Saturday night. Restaurant itself inside was also only about 1/4 filled on Saturday at 7pm

I would give Bangkok Gardens a good mark on looks and service, but the food is only passable. We were meeting up with an old friend and picked Bangkok Gardens as we were hankering after the food we had on a recent trip to Thailand last February. I would have liked to have ordered a Som Tam, but our guest... More

Strolling around the corner from our hotel, we came across a quiet street with several restaurants, including the Bangkok Garden. It was very pleasant being able to eat our supper, seated outside, while enjoying the stunning architecture around us. Our waiter, Jason, was a fount of knowledge about both the menu and the architecture! Besides the usual Thai dishes, we... More

Great atmosphere, good service and a very good selection of Thai dishes. This place is busy enough that the food stays fresh. A popular spot for work luncheons and get togethers. I always look forward to going back and I'm never disappointed. The unique feature is the soup bar with full service. The decorations give it a first class feel,... More

Lovely restaurant, wonderful staff, and delicious, spicy food. We had the dinner for 2, Siam. 3 courses, all really terrific.

Was there with a group of 10 on a day when martinis were half price. Took forever to get our drinks, so much so that a member from our party went to complain-was 40 minutes. It was not busy although that was the reason given for the delay. Meals arrived and I along with some others had the Pad Thai... More

Good food again! Went back after many years ago after the food got really middle of the road and boring. The level of spicing is difficult for any restaurant so I think they have picked fairly well for the range of clientele. Emerald Chicken still under spiced but good. Pepper appetizer closer to the mark. Recommended.

This is a superb Thai restaurant. Once you get past the funky looking front part (don't sit in the front....wait for a table in the back) you'll enter a rather enchanting dining room in the back that has multiple levels of wood. It oozes ambiance!!!! But that's only the beginning. And speaking of beginnings, start out with some spring rolls... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
