We ate here for a meeting and the filet minon was probably the best I've ever had in a restaurant. I wuold highly recommend. The service was not very good and I would not receommend this restaurant for meetings larger than 15 as he could not handle it.

We ordered a number of items in-room and in the restaurant. They serve a Cobb salad that needs to be overhauled-too pedestrian to even try. Seafood risotto had one shrimp, part of a lobster tail and a dried-up lobster claw-all of the seafood was over cooked and rubbery. We have stayed at this hotel for over 30 years, and have... More

Beautiful food. Excellent service. Cosy high class atmosphere. The maitre d kept a careful eye and the waiter was attentive but not intrusive. A beautiful dessert designed for our anniversary finished the meal. Perfect onion soup and seafood risotto. A good wine selection. We will be going again.

I know Hotel restaurants generally rate lower than their freestanding counterparts, usually because they try to be all things to all. Some of the Hotels I have reviewed have Michelin starred Restaurants so I know it's not always true. I had a business lunch in Yorkville Toronto, an area full of outstanding restaurants. I only chose Annona for convenience, it... More

You know you are in a hotel dining room. The one great thing was that you could hear everyone at the table. Even though there was a large party in the room the noise level was good. The martinis were good but expensive $22 each. The wine list is pricy as well. The food is average. A nice variety of... More

In my last review I expressed dismay at the slipped quality of food at Annona. We tried it again this week, and I'm happy to say that the main courses were back on track. I had duck and it was delicious: prepared well done as requested, but still crispy, tender and flavourful with nice sweet and sour condiments. As always,... More

Went here for breakfast this morning - there was a line up at the door for 5 minutes as the hostess was away from her post. After I was seated it took several minutes for the server to come by and take my order. He didn't introduce himself and he wasn't overly friendly. My meal when it came was unremarkable... More

First, I have the give them points for first-rate service; they dealt with all of the special needs of our crew with no problems, including gluten-free toast. The room is lovely, quiet enough for business and luxurious enough for anyone. They're not giving the food away, but its worth it. I had the western omelet, with caramelized onions, lox and cream... We were staying at the Park Hyatt in Toronto so dining at Annona was very convenient (the restaurant is in the hotel). Food and service were very good. I really enjoyed their vichyssoise made with celeriac. Also had their braised beef rib which was very good. Nice selection of wine. And they were able to provide me with plenty of... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
