We choose the the fixed price menu for the three of us - great selection of various Thai appetizers and main dishes to share- both the basil beef and shrimp chilli coconut were fantastic and Loved the the mango salad. Very authentic Thai flavours - would definitely go back and recommend.

Golden Thai is a good restaurant. Is their food better than others? I would say a slight yes but not much so. Where they score is in presentation and ambience. Gorgeous looking restaurant puts you in the right mood to enjoy an expensive Thai meal. It is authentic food, don't worry. Not suitable for kids. Romantic. Low, dim lighting like... More

Met up with a friend for lunch and we chose Golden Thai. Good food and service for the time crunch that we were on.

I want to choose my words carefully because I know there are many types of Thai cuisine.... But the Pad Thai was too saucy in a very sweet manner and so it really want to our taste... The curry was also too sweet. Now I admit these could be regional, cultural differences.... But it wasn't to our liking.. In the... More

We were with 10 family members and we had made reservations a week before due to the size of our gathering. We have been here 4 times now (becoming our place to go when visiting Toronto) and it was another great experience. Friendly and attentive staff. Menu has many options to choose from, including set menus for 2 or more... More

Great service! Very attentive... We enjoyed Chicken Satay, 'cool' rolls, and Tom Yum Goong (spicy soup with mushrooms, lemongrass, and shrimp). They were very good. I love summer rolls (as I have always heard them called) and these were a little different from any I have ever had. The cucumber was pickled. A surprising a flavorful departure from any I've... Decor is very nice, if a bit kitschy (although don't you tire from all those "exposed brick is cool" places in Toronto), service is very attentive and on upscale side, and food is VERY good, Prices are below of what you would expect from a place that nice (you can have a very decent meal for $20-25 per person plus... I read the reviews on this place whilst researching for our holiday and most were positive. Well, in our 5 day stay we ate here 3 times! No reservation made each time. We asked for meal suggestions from the staff and were not disappointed. Meals came quickly and were very reasonably priced. We had a starter, two mains and rice... More

I make it a MUST to come here whenever I travel to Toronto. It is centrally located, there is off-street parking right behind the building, and the food is always generously portioned and super tasty. The servers--regardless of who you get--are friendly, helpful and a real delight. One of our friends has a gluten allergy and did not order dessert... More

Situated between Yonge-Dundas Square and the Cathedral Church of St James, Golden Thai is 10 mins walk from St Lawrence Market. Well presented with Thai artifacts and decor, white table cloth, the ambience was good. The vegetable cool rolls and satay were great starters. For us, the stand-out dishes were the spicy eggplant, cashew chicken, vegetable salad and green chicken... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
