Close to the Hall. Great service. Best pig knuckle I've had. Good wine list. Best of all, called to reserve the night before and there was no room at Fred's. They reserved a table downstairs at Red Tomato but allowed us to order from the Fred's menu. Excellent all around.

This is my second time at Fred's not Here and I have to say it won't be my last. We originally gave the Red Tomato a try and wanted to see what the upstairs had to offer. Oh my gosh, where to begin. The Lobster Soup is a godsend. Absolutely worth it and delicious! All meals are nice sized portions... More

The location is very convenient to the King Street Entertainment District -- however, there are a lot of better choices than "Fred's Not Here" in the area. The portions are very small and quite costly. Flavour is just okay. If you are looking for a good restaurant in this area -- there are plenty of better options. Go elsewhere.

This was a Thursday evening. A colleague and I walked into the restaurant around 9. It was busy and lively. Service was prompt and competent without being over the top friendly. Good balance. Food was excellent. My back was to most of the restaurant and to my surprise when we finished just after 10 we were the only 2 people... More

Dinner here before theatre. Reservations recommended. Fantastic experience and attentive service from the get go. We came for the steak and were not disappointed! Appetizer tried was the Baked Lobster & Crab Soup. Piping hot with a puffed phyllo on top. So delicious, I was left wanting more. 6oz Angus Beef Fillet Mignon melted in your mouth "like butter" The... More

I ate here with a large group of friends after the theatre. It was the only restaurant I could find that didn't force us into a pricey fixed menu because of our group size. The menu has lots of variety and tasty options. Our group was pleased with the service and food. I would go back!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
