Took my husband for his 65th birthday. I wanted it to be memorable and it certainly was. We had great service and delicious food. We had a nice bottle of wine which we can not buy in Canada (pity) We had the goat cheese and eggplant to start and a lobster salad. Out of this world. Then we had 2... More

Having been to Portugal and immensely enjoyed its cuisine, I wanted to recreate the experience as closely as possible. This was pretty close, in my opinion. The setting was cosy and low key, the food delicious (especially the fresh fish), wine menu great with a wide selection of Dao and Duoro (my persobal favourite), the service excellent. I'm definetely going... More

Took my son for his graduation dinner and it was summerliscious too. Lots of choices for a prix fixe menu which is always a good sign for a restaurant. Dinner was excellent from the appetizers, to the entrees to the desserts. Of special note was the service: I have always had fantastic service at Chiado and again, they were wonderful... More

The restaurant had very nice ambiance, good service. I had the salmon tartar (found 1 bone in it, tasted fine, like salmon sashimi on avocadoes), salted cod terrine (a little burned at the top otherwise it was great), and Molotof for dessert. The dessert was very nicely presented! The food was very tasty and portion size was good, I was... More

We went there for the summerlicious lunch, which is a prefix $28 menu. You can choose one appetizer, one main and one dessert. I have to say, everything was delicious, but I am missing that "wow" moment. The regular menu does seem expensive to me, I am not sure if I would want to pay for that price to have... More

Went for lunch with my wife and ordered the fresh fish special and a grouper risotto that were both fantastic! Our server recommended a wonderful white wine to accompany our meal. Definitely will be going back

Love the food, the flexibility of the combination, the personalised service and the portion of food is huge for South East Asian person like me. My portuguese colleague brought me to eat here - so it is authentic!

The wait staff are well trained and offer excellent service. The menu is wonderful liberally sprinkled with fresh fish. The dishes we had were all excellent several fresh fish made perfectly. Have wanted to get to this restaurant for the longest time and it was even better than I had anticipated. Old world fine dining service from the staff and exceptional food. A basket of assorted breads is brought to the table and served with olive oil and sprinklings of sea salt if you wish, which is very Portugese, (the attractive... More

We love this restaurant and have often celebrated our anniversary here. It's a very special treat and last night was no exception. We split a salad and seafood bisque & ordered fish & grilled octopus for our main. We also split a chocolate mousse for dessert. All excellent. The service was flawless. It's an expensive menu, but we have always... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
