This place has been owned by the same family for over 50 years and is a areal family restaurant serving the best veal in town and they really care and listen. Last time I asked why the veal scalapini (sp) was different the son said sorry new chef needs to learn the recipe and they took it off the bill.... More

Whether you go to the "Dip" in the summer for patio days or on the coldest day in winter, the food is great, service is very good and you are always greeted with a smile. One of the great "go to" places in Toronto for wonderful Italian including the pizza which is always made just the way you want it.

We met our friends who live near College St, and ate on the patio. This was our second visit, although we try to go to a new place every time we drive down.. Very popular restaurant, but the wait is short, even on Saturday night. We had 2 types on one pizza. Crisp Thin Crust very fresh hand made. Other... More

Found this while exploring Toronto's Little Italy. Nice menu and they had a gluten-free alternative pizza crust. Nice custom pizza selections and great friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Make your own Italian pizza (with a fair selection of other Italian dishes to choose from) is great here. Went on a Sunday night, there was a live band (cello, saxophone, keyboard) playing soft music, conducive to a very authentically Italian atmosphere. Good staff, terrific patio (when weather allows for it), and very solid pricing. Also, make sure to grab... More

There's a nice sized patio set up with big tv's during soccer ("football") season, the menu has a good variety of choices - all very tasty. The service is fast and friendly, the bill isn't expensive...a great spot to drop in for lunch on a sunny day.

Stopped by here on a short Food Crawl with some friends. Ordered an Americano and a Cannelloni (Best I have EVER had). Sat out under the covered patio and enjoyed every sip of coffee and every bite of dessert. Will definitely visit again.

Our Toronto guide book recommended this café / restaurant in Little Italy so we thought we would try it out, we sat in their outside terrace as it was a lovely warm evening and were served straight away by the friendly staff, I ordered a meatball Puttanesca pasta dish whilst my wife went for the carbonara with Italian sausage, we... While talking a walk through Little Italy we noticed that Cafe Diplomatico offered a lunch special. Since the day was so pleasant we sat in the open air sidewalk section and ordered the chicken Parmesan. The food was excellent and at a very fair price. James Smith was our server and he could not have been more attentive. If you... More

The Little Italy street corner location offers diners a nice sized patio to enjoy on a sunny, warm evening. We found the service was in the european style: attentive but not rushed so we could enjoy the time at our leisure. It is a good place to meet friends and enjoy a meal. The food is very tasty and nicely... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
