I've had dinner at Bymark and always had a good experience. However, my first lunch here was not nearly as good. I ordered the cheese toasty with lobster while expecting a nice, open-faced sandwich with a flourish got a fairly ordinary cheese toasty with some lobster meat in it - all for $30. And very noisy.

We had dinner there last night and it was on of the best and most memorable meals that I've had in years. Each meal, there were four of us, was superbly cooked and presented. I will be back

Above average financial district restaurant that leaves you little impact and aftertaste... Had a very nicely cooked sirloin which still lacked something in taste. Awesome ice cream dessert.

We went to Bymark for dinner on a Saturday. We had been to North 44 and wanted to try something else for a change. Never again. First we ordered the beef short rib starter it came to our table and was lukewarm on the outside and cold on the inside. They were apologetic and took it back to warm it.... More

Went on a whim for lunch. What a whim! The food was expertly thought out, prepared and served. A little expensive but fabulously worth it. Schnitzel was how I remembered it in Germany: thin, crisp. And then there was the linguine with pesto. Wonderful. Ben gave good enthusiastic recommendations. It's been there 14 years and no wonder.

Online reviews of this restaurant are almost uniformly glowing. Based on those reviews our dinner party had to try it. I was a little disappointed. The appetizers are tasty. Loved the shrimp tacos. I ordered an 8oz sirloin. My companion, the 6oz. Both cooked medium rare. The steaks that came on our two plates were identical. I know 2oz is... More

I wanted to drop by and have a quick lunch and sit at the bar. I ordered the duck pate and had a glass of the Bymark Cab wine. This was a fantastic choice as the wine paired remarkably well with the pate and very tasty toast along with picked root veggies. The 2 lady bartenders were pleasant as was... More

Went there for a business meeting, and I ordered the rack a lamb, Took a long time to get it, and when I finally did get it it was uncooked cold and inedible, normally I send it back or have it taken off the bill. But for what ever reason my fault I was so wrapped up in business talk... More

I took a client here for Dinner and found the surroundings to be very classy, it's downstairs but still feels airy. the food was delicious I had the cod which was perfectly cooked. The service was first class. It was a bit pricier than most places but it was worth the money.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
