Wow! Brilliant concept with the food being delicious and very original. The staff here are great and totally committed to giving the best experience with both a passion for the food and offering a great experience for their clientele. A real Gem and must visit when in Toronto. We can't wait to eat and drink here again

We were finishing off the trifecta of all the Buca locations with lunch at this location. We sat at the bar because we enjoy watching the activity in the kitchen. We shared a starter and the veal 'sandwich'. Topped it off with a great glass of wine recommended by our server and we were delighted we made the effort to... More

we stopped in for coffee, great Americano strong not bitter, excellent. Chatted with the staff while we were there and discovered they have a great selection of bitters some bought, but many in house made, this would be an ideal bar/cafe if you wanted an old fashion or a bourbon with a little extra zest. Definitely worth another visit.

We looked forward to going to the Yorkville Bar Buca for yummy fish. That was the rumour. Quite simply, the waiter was fabulous, the menu sounded creative and promising and the presentation of the food was lovely. The food itself...completely tasteless. Th crudo was bland and my guest's salad was less than memorable. But, the real disappointment were the entrees.... More

Bar Buca was right around the corner from my old apartment. I would often frequent this place when I was running out for a quick coffee but couldn't be gone long. They make delicious cappuccinos and morning sweet pastries, have really friendly bar tenders/baristas and provide a very enjoyable to go experience. The breakfast sandwiches are very delicious although aren't... More

We really enjoyed tasting a repertoire of delicious small plates during our visit. Nice wine selection as well. My only criticism is that it's quite noisy and difficult to carry on a quiet conversation. Great place to go if you just want to eat and drink in an upbeat ambiance and can forego the conversation for awhile.

I leave a lot of reviews... most places I give the benefit of the doubt; however, this places touts itself as a higher-end place, which raises expectations (and the bar). The food was "ok"... and having been here a few times now, I can say that the food is consistently "ok"... nothing to knock your socks off (and I usually... More

Went to celebrate my wedding anniversary today and left very disappointed. Given the reputation of the chef and his restaurants I was expecting impeccable service and food. The service left much to be desired, our food took nearly an hour to be served to us although numerous tables that were seated after us got their food before us and they... More

Don't come here if you are looking for a quick lunch. Love BUCA restaurant so thought we'd try BAR BUCA for lunch having heard about killer stuffed focaccia sandwiches. We arrived shortly before noon to a somewhat empty patio - 3 other tables of the approx. 10 were occupied and restaurant inside was pretty empty except for 1 table. I... More

Buca Osteria Enoteca is an Italian restaurant from the King Street Food Company (Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and The Saint Tavern). The menu aims to combine the ingredient specificity of rustic Italian cuisine with the culinary finesse of fine dining, building recipes around fresh and seasonal produce, but using a number of classical culinary techniques as well. The beautiful and understated main dining room has soaring high ceilings, exposed raw brick, and iron beams - using the natural elements of the heritage building. Towards the back, beyond the open curing room, a smaller wine bar, the Enoteca, is sleek and private.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
