My friend and I stopped in for dinner on Friday night, after a suggestion from the bartenders at nearby Barchef. We grabbed two spots at the bar which overlooked the kitchen and had a very tough time making our minds up on what to order as there were so many fabulous options. I liked that the plates were small so... More

This is THE place for coffee, and breakfast was outstanding! Staff was exceptional too, super helpful and very friendly! We had tons of questions, and everyone just kept being so nice with us that we thought about staying there for the entire day!

Bar Buca is a fabulous slice of Italy in Toronto with every dish bringing fresh flavors and great value. I'm a pizza aficionado and the Roman style pizza is a great alternative to the thin round pizzas.

The best little local place.. it's good for everything, coffee in the morning, it's open until 2AM every night. Their Buratta is the best in the city, and they have a great wine selection.

Dropped in mid afternoon for a first time experience at bar buca and I was not disappointed. Sampled two different skewers, enjoyed the octopus with spicy sausage and a tender delicious quail skewer bone in. The roasted Cauliflower with a too sweet of a sauce, definitely not one I would try again. Overall a great little find and wonderful engaging... More

I went for a business meeting on Sunday afternoon. The place was busy. Service was good but the food is not the same anymore. The quality of food has gone lower and the place looks beaten up now. The menu has changed a lot and is boring now.

Just below King St on Portland, Bar Buca is a trendy, sophisticated cafe-cum-snack spot, surprisingly open till 2 am every day. Although a cafe style, they provide table service even for just coffee. Limited menu, but the open kitchen concept with an open seating plan is surprisingly cosy

Whether it's for my daily americano, my weekly Thursday or Friday night date with a girlfriend or weekend brunch, the food, drinks and atmosphere never disappoint. The staff are friendly and warm and take pride in what they do.

The smelts were awesome. We always seek out smelts at Italian places because the are rare to find. Pricey wine by the glass. Concerned about the storage of the wine above the kitchen area

Wow! Brilliant concept with the food being delicious and very original. The staff here are great and totally committed to giving the best experience with both a passion for the food and offering a great experience for their clientele. A real Gem and must visit when in Toronto. We can't wait to eat and drink here again

Thank Sean H

Buca Osteria Enoteca is an Italian restaurant from the King Street Food Company (Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and The Saint Tavern). The menu aims to combine the ingredient specificity of rustic Italian cuisine with the culinary finesse of fine dining, building recipes around fresh and seasonal produce, but using a number of classical culinary techniques as well. The beautiful and understated main dining room has soaring high ceilings, exposed raw brick, and iron beams - using the natural elements of the heritage building. Towards the back, beyond the open curing room, a smaller wine bar, the Enoteca, is sleek and private.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
