We really liked the food, place and service. Food was flavourful. One must try their fish curry. Naan bread was amazing.

This restaurant felt like a cross between a local favourite and destination for theatre-goers. The service was prompt and friendly, with great attention paid to allergy concerns. We shared several vegetarian dishes that were favourful and not too oily. The spice level was accurate; we had one dish medium and it had a slight kick. The hot dish was too... More

We were glad to get a table here after struggling to find anywhere else to go on Valentine's. We ordered a lamb and chicken biryani plus two rotis, which we were informed we couldn't have because they didn't have the flour, so we settled for garlic naans instead which, in fairness, were delicious. The same can be said of the... More

Bought a Travelzoo voucher for Bindia ($59 for $100 worth of food and drink for 4 - yes this included cocktails/wine). Great location, nice space with a very laid back vibe. The restaurant was very clean, service was impeccable - big shout out to Shawn the Manager who was also our server. He was so responsive and friendly. We never... More

Went for lunch at Bindia after shopping at the St. Lawrence Market - right across the street. I haven't been able to find a good chicken baked in a tandoori oven since my favourite place in Markham closed down. Hands down the Chicken Tikka is the best I've had in years and I would go back again and again. The... More

We were a walk in on a Saturday evening. Although the restaurant was full bar a few "reserved" tables they went out of their way to seat us! The staff were really lovely! Attentive in a relaxing way as opposed to looking for a tip way - which was refreshing! We felt like they valued our custom! The food was... More

Food was amazing here. Everything that we ordered was delicious (hats off to the chef). Unfortunately, our waitress was lacking in the customer service department. She barely greeted us, was standoffish during our meal, and just appeared to be in a bad mood. There were only 2 tables of people (including our own) so she wasn't busy. Overall, I would... More

Nice warm atmosphere on a cold winter night. The gentleman who served us (owner?) was quite friendly and he added a personal touch to the service which transformed the dinner into a most enjoyable experience.

We've eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The service is great, and the food is very high quality, authentic and delicious. (My partner has been to India a number of times and has a good idea of what Indian food should taste like :). We always have the tandoori chicken because it's really fabulous- juicy,... More

Bravo, to the team at Bindia from kitchen to table service, we were given good meal recommendations and that included the ingredients in some dishes for one of us who was vegan. That was one of the reasons we walked over from the distillery district, so he could have a nice meal and selection. May I comment on my meal,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
