Our experience was okay. We had one wonderful dish: a spicy crushed eggplant, but everything else was far from extraordinary. The rice was clumped which is just inexcusable in any South Asian restaurant.

Nicely set up with an outside patio, my first visit (for a business meeting) was a good experience. The waitress was friendly but not overbearing, and promptly attended to our needs. My colleague and I shared the lamb vindaloo and the vegetable Korma with a nan each and some rice. The nan was cooked properly and not oily, and the... More

We had dinner at Bindia and enjoyed the excellent dishes in a lively surrounding. Various vegetarian menus are available at a reasonable price. The staff is attentive and friendly. We would come again.

We had cousins in from the UK and were staying at the King Edward Hotel. We all fancied indian food, and my cousin found this restaurant on-line as being close. It was a great find. We loved the food and the service was great. They had specials on drinks before 6:00 p.m. so we were able to get in on... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
