Went here for breakfast and had a delicious fresh breakfast bagel with the most amazing sweet potato chips. Service was really friendly and helpful. A cheap and filling way to start the day.

What A Bagel is always packed to the brim on weekends, so we thought we would give it a try. Not only did we have to wait a long time for a table, but the food was not that great either. The poached eggs were over done, the coffee was served cold, and the portions are small for thr price... More

I'm sorry you and your group had to wait a little longer than you would have liked for those breakfast, Arthur K. I appreciate you recognizing that we were very busy while you were here and that our team was working quickly to get your breakfast out as fast as we could, but I can certainly appreciate how frustrating it... Sorry - the food was too good and I ate it all too fast to take a photo. More than just bagels (which are insanely good) - the smoothies, the latkes, the turkey bacon... you really can't go wrong!! Highlight for me is The Stroshow - it is pretty much the best smoothie I have ever had. Can you tell... More

You can literally grab them coming out of the oven. Super soft and fresh. The smell will have you hooked. They charge a lot though to toast and put cream cheese on them though. A $1 bagel gets to $4 pretty quick... Coffee is good.

We were trying to find a breakfast spot near Peter Street and happened upon What a Bagel. We've been back twice now and may go one more time before leaving TO. The food is on point from their pancakes drizzled with Nutella to their caramel hot chocolate. I also enjoyed their oreo crunch french toast - decadent! Service is fast... More

You choose your bagel yourself and it is usually still warm. The content is put in while you watch, and, if a sunny day, as it was for me, you sit on patio. Not the cheapest, but certainly the best, and very casual and consistent.

I love this place, great food and atmosphere. I have eaten there several times and love every single dish they have. The bagels are made there and are great. you can find Israeli dishes. There is not pork in the menu but you don't really need it. It's great for brunch but gets pretty full so go with time.I highly... More

So this had become by "go to" place for the best bagels in my part of Toronto. And then one Saturday recently I was waiting for the T.O. Leather Fashions store to open and I was an hour early so I went into What A Bagel to see if there was any sit down food. Wow ! What a surprise... More

This place is usually very busy but a good place to get a good portion of breakfast brunch food. The bagels are very fresh, menu selection is good, and prices are quite reasonable.

We ordered the eggs benny hash so basically it is eggs benny but on a thick hashbrown patty not an English muffin. Eggs cooked perfectly and the avocado was so fresh. All was amazing. We had the turkey club which was also good but not as amazing as the benny. The pan fries were not fresh so that was the... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
