We love The Oxley! Found it on a recent trip to Toronto. Had a great lunch (Kedgeree! Yum!). We actually went back the next day for dinner. Service was excellent! Friendly and efficient. Food was delicious. Patio was perfect. Will be back.

Only pub I found in Toronto that had a hand pulled cask ale rather than a tap. They only have one but that's one more than anywhere else! Nice quiet ambience and knowledgeable staff who were happy to put the indy car racing on the tv upstairs for me.

I go to the Oxley every time I'm in Toronto. The house made potato chips are addictive. Everything on the menu is perfect, I especially love the sardines on toast.

The courtyard behind The Oxley is a lovely place for a quiet brunch - much more pleasant than the tables on the noisy street. We were able to find a table that was out of the sun, food and service were very acceptable.

We found this place across form the Hazleton. It is a local hotspot and serves food and drink. We closed them down one night and came in earlier the next for a few adult beverages. The staff is attentive and friendly.

After viewing the Dale Chihuly exhibit at the ROM, my friends and I were looking for someplace to have lunch. It was a hot afternoon and we had eaten Italian recently, so we looked at the Oxley menu and decided to try English Pub instead. What a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere is Victorian in the best way, showcasing the architecture... More

Located in a house in Yorkville, the Oxley has a unique ambience (and menu). True, the inside felt a bit stuffy on a recent summer Sunday, but not to worry, they have a front patio for people watching and a large, quiet, and absolutely beautiful back patio. My one quibble is that for a British gastropub, they have a fairly... More

Went here twice within our 5 day stay in Toronto because we liked the food that much! Prices are reasonable, for the area. The only drawback is that when the restaurant is filled at lunch time, the decibel level is enormous! Not really the fault of the restaurant, more the fault of the very loud patrons seated all around us.... More

I've eaten here before and had been satisfied. Great Yorkville location. But yesterday I stopped in at lunchtime and ordered "crab cakes with warm fine bean salad and olive tapenade ". I was given deep fried panko crusted salmon cakes ( no crab in there!) , about 5 green string beans with baby potatoes and 2 cherry tomatoes floating in... More

Very nice beer, tasty whitebait reminded me of the UK and friendly staff make this a great spot in a fun area of town.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
