We happened upon this pub and were very pleased. The staff are friendly and informed about the brews and food. We had the clams (in a blue cheese and white wine sauce) and a side of fries, along with a couple of beers. Everything was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely return.

We stopped here before going to a concert at the Danforth Music Hall, so glad we did! Servers were great, very attentive and knowledgable about he beers and menu. We ordered the special (beef dip, not normally on menu) it was the best I have tasted. Also the pulled lamb pouting was amazing! I would love to return here if... More

I really appreciate when those who desire to bring a traditional dining experience into the 21st are able to do so without losing the heart and soul. This spot takes traditional pub fare of burgers and Mac n Cheese and delightfully updates and improves on these basic dishes.

I come here all the time because it has friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and an absolutely delicious menu. It gets a little crowded on Friday nights, but it's worth checking out if only for their pulled lamb poutine which I think might be the best in the city.

Mussels were to die for. Loved the fish and chips. Absolutely will recommend for a nice dinner on a weeknight. A bit pricey but so good. Service was very good as well.

So I just met friends here for drinks, but I wish I hadn't eaten beforehand. The menu was great and there were about 4 things I would have wanted to order. Drinks were great though. The bar is great with a huge selection of beers on tap. It's a fun environment - energetic, but not too loud either. Easy to... More

I love the atmosphere this place brings with the scattered Scottish photos and lights intertwined in branches on the ceiling. The restaurant is almost always busy in the evenings and the service is a little slow a times but excellent none the less (just give yourself plenty of time there). Their food is always wonderfully prepared and good value for... More

When most people think the Danforth, they think Greek, but there is spattering of different cuisine intermingled amongst the usual fairs. Auld Spot is one of them. Cozy environment great for a party of 2 to 4, nice craft beer list and whiskey menu. The French Fries are fantastic and the Mac and Cheese is INCREDIBLE! I would definitely order... More

This was my daughters pick for her birthday dinner. Out of all the great restaurants in Toronto let alone the ones along the Danforth. She picks this small crowded pub because she's only ever had drinks there. Well what a shame because all those other times where as she enjoyed the extensive bar list, cozy atmosphere and friendly excellent service. She... More

If you're looking to drink a pint and be around the most genuine locals on the Danforth, the Auld Spot is the place to be. Incredible food, incredible service - you'll always find a brilliant conversation at the bar. Highly recommend to those who like upscale comfort food and pints with friends.

Thank Tom L

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
