I went to have a late lunch on Sunday it was not crowded and the service was pretty good. The place is very well decorated and comfortable.

If you are looking for a reasonably good place for dinner that also serves a beer this is your chance. Decor is fine, customers mostly couples when we visited, not too noisy or expensive & quite good service and food. We hunted up & down Bloor St & this was the most suitable. We're happy!

We have eaten at Thai Basil many times as it quickly became our family's favourite place for Thai food. The decor is relaxing, the food AMAZING, the staff friendly and efficient. It's a very popular venue, so sometimes there is a long queue, but it's always worth the wait! Highly recommended.

I went there for lunch once and it was a good experience. The place is small, but comfortable. I really liked the food and the service.

Quite busy restaurant and efficient service. Special for two was good value and included appetizers and desert. Flavours are good and fairly predictable but I got them to bring some chillies to spice things up a bit more. Recommended.

My friends and I regularly meet at Thai Basil for a bite before seeing a film down the street. We love it because we know exactly what to expect- that is: Prompt, efficient service by cheerful, friendly waitresses, good dishes, both meat and veggie, flexibility from the menu, accommodating Gluten-free, no fish sauce, no dairy etc. The food is always... Based on our very favourable dining experience at this Bloor Street restaurant in October 2014, my wife and I went back this November for a pre-theatre meal. From the start, we were disappointed: seated at a table for two along the long wall, very cold air streaming down from the overhead vents made it so uncomfortable that we asked to... More

We were glad we went. They honoured our reservation on a busy Friday night. Friendly service; we had large portions of tasty green chicken curry, pretty good pad thai, and a good selection of shrimp and eggplant, preceded by two kinds of rolls. With two drinks, three of us ate amply and well for $65.

If you're sensitive to MSG, make sure to ask the server if there is some in what you're ordering... I had a soup and then started to feel huge pressure at the temples, my body reaction to msg. I asked the waitress who confirm they put some in the soup... So I'm not impressed... The other dish we had was... More

Wandered through the old University buildings from College Street up to Bloor, specifically to try out this restaurant - both are highly recommended! We doubled up on the set menu for two making slightly different choices as there were four of us and the food was excellent. The staff were extremely professional and attentive. A very enjoyable evening!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
