My wife and I have been traveling across parts of Canada and got hungry for some Mediterranean cooking and decided to give Volos a try. We're glad we did. We started with the Greek meatballs, which were fantastic. A little cinnamon, a little cummin added to all meat meatballs, served with a light tomato sauce produced a winner of an... More

Myself and seven friends had dinner at Volos. It was fabulous! We had a variety of different dishes and EVERY one was great. Our waiter was funny, knew both the dinner and drink menu very well and helped us make great picks. We will be back.

We went to Estiatorio VOLOs with another couple for the first time today. The services were great and the food was very tasty (not Danforth heavy). The fisherman's bake which is a seafood stew was my favourite.

A Greek atmosphere and decor helped make this a memorable evening..not the meal I'd expect from a Greek restaurant - especially the islands. Relaxed and friendly with no rush meant we had plenty of time to enjoy the excellent cuisine. The lamb is really good! Greek ouzo was delicious and the wine complimented our meals well. We didn't have to... More

I am so fortunate to have found this outstanding modern Greek restaurant while visiting Toronto. Adjacent to Hilton Toronto - quick walk from Osgoode subway station. The food is fantastic. One night I had the horiatiki (Greek) salad and Mediterranean red snapper. The next night I had saganaki and Mediterranean gigantes, a delicious veggie delight! The staff is outstanding --... More

Though a Greek-influenced spot for casual fine dining, this is not your standard feta and olives place. The menu is interesting and a nice balance between modern and traditional dishes. Wine is well selected - especially the Greek choices.

Not only is this restaurant incredibly charming and warm, but the food is the real deal. Everything was spot on: saganaki was perfect and they flambé it right in front of you which is a nice touch. The grilled octopus is pretty much as good as it gets. Rack of lamb is as good as you'll find anywhere. Riganato and... More

So we went to Volos based on the Trip advisor reviews. We ordered the Moroccan Octopus as a starter. 10/10 really good and worth to try!! For the Entrees, we had the Sea Bass which was great 8/10 and the Scallop 9/10. The only thing with the scallop is that the dish is small... 4 Scallops and 2 spoons of... More

This upscale Greek restaurant looks lovely with its plank floors and open kitchen. The service was attentive and efficient. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Seafood, traditional dishes and some unique choices. The flaming cheese was spectacular! For a special meal on a date or with friends, I would recommend this restaurant.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
