Service was a terrible experience for my group. Right from the start of the evening, we were rudely advised that we did not seek 'permission' to bring balloons. While I understand every establishment is entitled to their own rules, when you have unique conditions such as 'no balloons', I recommend advising people when they make a group booking. I have... Hi Sabrina, Thank you for the feedback and the compliments to the kitchen. Please accept our sincerest apologies again for the hair that appeared in your appetizer and the delay you perceived between first and second courses. We work very hard to make sure our guests are served in a timely fashion, but sometimes delays happen that we are not... More

I enjoyed a fine dinner on a Tuesday evening. At the moment, Tuesdays are very special at Boehmer. All bottles of wine are half price. Buck a shuck oysters. And they have a $22 lobster dinner special. The place was buzzing. The atmosphere is really good. The service is very warm and professional. And the food was excellent. I wasn't... More

Had not been back to Boehmer in a few years and realized how much I missed this great place. The restaurants location, the ambience, the service and the food; everything was perfect! The neighborhood was full of energy, packed with funky, trendy people. It is a great restaurant for people watching and when the weather warms up they have outdoor lounge... More

Everything was perfect; service, food, ambiance, and music! We loved this restaurant so much, we are going to have my husband's company Christmas party there, and that is 9 months away! The decor is creative and funky, little nooks to sit and have cocktails in, the service was attentive but not annoying. The portions were generous, and everything was perfectly... More

Attended an Underground Chef CO battle, Montreal vs Toronto. Food offered for $8.00 fish tacos (2) Sliders (3) each were accompanied by a green salad. Beverages were high priced which seems par for the Ossington nabe. Interesting venue and display of up and coming chefs.

This is a great restaurant on Ossington. We loved our drinks and the cheese and meat selection. The beet salad was delicious. Our entrees were okay. My husband had the hangar steak and pomme frites and I had the cod. Both were underwhelming. We've had better elsewhere. The fries were like steak house fries and not what we were used... More

I was in Toronto for business and met up with some old friends for dinner at this restaurant. I immediately like the vibe. The music was great, the service was friendly, and the food was tasty. I would recommend for a lively night out.

In a recent trip to Toronto we asked a foodie friend to recommend the restaurant for our get-together. Boehmer was the one she selected as she had wanted to try it too. The Ossington Ave area is definitely expanding in restaurants and diversity and was interesting to explore. The restaurant is a large open space facility. It's a bit cold... More

I went with 3 family members for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night and we got in without a reservation. The food was very good - we each thought our dinner was the one of the best we'd ever had. We practically licked our plates. The service was very friendly and attentive. The bill with tip was $280 for... More

Saturday night with friends at this restaurant was not the best first impression. A large group of friends. Dinner was served 3 hours after we arrived. Way too late. The service staff wasn't happy or friendly. Over priced drinks and sub par food. Received bread that was defrosted and hard to tear away from the loaf. The salad needs more... More

Dear Anonymous Reviewer, One would expect that if you were going to spew out a review chock full of lies that you would at least have the common courtesy to identify yourself. That being said, after dealing with your group this past Saturday expecting any sort of courtesy or social grace is the last thing we would anticipate. If we... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
