We had heard a lot about Enoteca Sociale and found it somewhat difficult to get a reservation but finally scored a table for four. The outside patio is nice but the decor and atmosphere inside leaves a lot to be desired. The menu is fairly limited including a very small and not very interesting wine list. Our food was quite... Had a wonderful meal, in great company. It was a beautiful night and we got to sit outside. Some of the items that we had were very tasty, such as Branzino, Beef Carpaccio, Tuna, Lamb Ragu Pasta etc. and the list goes on... I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our family had a birthday celebration in the downstairs private dining room. It was fantastic. You are seated at a beautiful wooden plank surrounded by the restaurant's wine cellar - the lighting and ambiance were perfect. There is the choice of a $45 five course meal or a $60 six course meal. Since we had three kids with us, we... More

It feels like authentic dining in Italy at Enotica Sociale - the food and the ambiance. The patio is beautiful. They have a good selection of wine. Their menu is carefully and thoughtfully planned. Everything we ordered just melts in your mouth delicious. We had the mushroom bruschetta and the gnocchi – the best we ever had. And their most... More

So impressed with this place that we came back the following weekend. This is not your grandfather's Italian restaurant, many interesting and new dishes, plus the Italian favorites. The Tuna appetizer was incredible, so fresh tasting. Good selection of pasta dishes, the steak as a secondi was better than at some fine steak houses. The service is excellent, wine list is... More

Some dishes such as Arancini and rapini were nicely done very nice cured meats, but the Gnocchi were overcooked(which is a no-no-you need to retain texture) the sauce was not a savoury experience(a smokey flavour-good with some foods not as a sauce). The roast half chicken was really dry accompanied by a rue sauce with a heavy Worcestershire sauce bite... More

I went there with some friends. They were really kind and attentive. The waiter was very funny too. As it was our first time there we followed his recommendations. We had the winter sausage wich was AMAZING. Then some mushrooms that were pretty good too. We had the rigatoni wich was good but the chicken with peppers was AMAZING the... More

There are many restaurants in Toronto and we have eaten at a lot. I generally don't use Trip Advisor locally nor post too many recommendations in Toronto, but will make an exception here. Many of the restaurants are easily forgotten, many are good, but not worthy of a return visit. Enoteca Sociale is an exception. I greatly enjoyed my meal... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
