We went to Union for Brunch with two other couples. We waited 30 minutes for a table when there were three empty tables for 4 that could have been combined. Once we were seated, the food was delicious. We each ordered something different and the presentation was appetizing and taste great. The service was friendly and efficient. The back patio,... More

Had a great meal here with cocktails, wine and dessert. Everything was first class. We shared all plates amongst the group and picked some interesting dishes but all were delicious. Highly recommended.

Some food was a bit pricey, but it was on the gourmet side. Service was solid. Would recommend. Visit was based on a referral from a local server at Provo. Ossington 'strip' is a good visit. Good character in the neighborhood.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local couple. There is indoor seating along with patio dining. We chose to sit indoors at a table for two in a row of tables that were all relatively close together. The restaurant has a large city feel to it while still retaining a local neighborhood ambience. For starters, we ordered the... More

Recently had lunch on the patio - while the food and wine were good, the patio smelled of garbage, indeed there were cans just behind a gate, and on a regular basis kitchen staff brought items back to this area. Lots of flies too. When we mentioned this to the server she said it was "because of the heatwave". Shall... More

This restaurant is well known to the locals in the Ossington area. It was recommended to us by one of the other restaurant waiters who works down the street at Mamakos (also excellent). We had a variety of small plates including a seafood medley, a mushroom and their signature appetizer the elk burger sliders. All were excellent and very filling.... More

A nice meal in a trendy neighbourhood. The staff was helpful and attentive. Loved the elk sliders in particular, as well as the fish special.

My sister and brother-in-law took me to Union which is just a short walk from their home. It's a bustling busy restaurant and we were seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Had so much fun watching the action and the gorgeous way the food was prepared. We started with oysters which were so fresh and delicious then my sister... More

Sunday brunch was great! The food is freshly prepared and locally sourced so tastes great. The bennies come on a bed of ribs and fresh crunchy bread. The hash browns are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and the salad comes with a great dressing. The mimosas were good. We sat outside on the shaded patio which... More

Staying in Queen Street and West Queen West

Neighborhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
