I was with a party of 4 on Saturday, February 18. It was a good thing I had reservations because it did get quite busy. I had the Filet Mignon, and it was excellent. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed it. The bill was $115 for my husband and I. I had no alcoholic beverages and he spent $10... More

We went for dinner on a Friday night. So perhaps it was our error, but it was so loud that we shouted at each other most of the night. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was okay...but I can't imagine taking a client here. Perhaps it's quieter over lunch with the business crowd. Not sure the prices... More

Recently ate at Houston's Avenue and the food was delicious. From the minute we stepped through the door the staff were welcoming and attentive. We sat at the bar upon arrival and the bar service was great and friendly. We then moved to a table to dine and were met by our server. He was friendly, polite and attentive. It... More

A great place to dine. The ribs are mouthwatering and the staff is so nice and kind, all in the heart of downtown Toronto. Great place to bring the family, would repeat and recommend!

this is my go to place when taking clients out for lunch or prior to sporting or concert events downtown !.......the atmosphere has a "club" feel but with class typically associated with a fine restaurant, i find the staff friendly and attentive ........kitchen is quick (needed when you have a start time of game or concert to meet) , bartenders... We had a large group from out of town on a weeknight during Toronto's "Winterlicious" restaurant promotion, food was good, atmosphere very nice and the private large group area was ideal for our needs. Excellent variety of dining choices and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The server Hannah was exceptional, looked after 14 people at our table and had other tables... More

I recently dined here with a friend for a Winterlicious dinner and overall, was underwhelmed and even disgusted at some points: The service was terrible: We had 2 waitresses state that they would be serving us, and were confused when the other showed up to help. One of them kept forgetting her pen to take the order, then also forgot... More

We went here for a casual dinner before a show. The service was so terrible it was bizarre. We were brought a "tempura shrimp" appetizer that looked like the Presidents Choice breaded shrimp but so dark it was almost black. No side plates or cutlery were provided so I had to grab them from a vacant table. One person at... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
