It looked and sounded promising. On my own, I was seated at the bar immediately (busy Saturday night) and that's where the problem started. Dirty, sticky bar. I had to ask the bartender to wipe it down, but he just gave it a cursory swipe with a dry cocktail napkin. Should have been my cue to leave. Painfully slow service:... More

I must admit, I was disappointed. Oliver & Bonacini was billed as a good lunch spot. So, I made a reservation last Thursday. The service was very slow out on the patio at 12:30. It took 20 minutes to get water and a cranberry & soda. We waited another 15 minutes after that for our meal. I had the sandwich... More

Nice restaurant with patio seating on both Front and Yonge St. The patio was really delightful for a late summer dinner in a friendly urban setting. Very nice server provided excellent service. My tuna entree was delicious. Fresh ingredients and a wonderful creative combination of tastes.

I made an interview meeting for the afternoon at O & B via Open Table. When the candidate didn't show up within a certain amount of time I paid my bill and left. If they can't show up to a meeting, I don't have to wait and I was quite polite with the waiter about leaving without having more than... More

Came here twice for a business lunch in recent months. Unfortunately I made a bit of a scene when I dropped my glass and it shattered on the table. The servers were amazing, they lept to my rescue and whisked away the mess, returning a fresh meal for me and my companion. I'm so grateful! The food was good, nice... More

We went on Sunday to have a brunch as it wasn't very crowded. Most of the dishes we ordered were good. The Caesar drinks seemed a bit watered down but cold. The eggs Benedict was good and so was the vegetable lasagna. The O and B breakfast was just okay. The bread was good but I was expecting two slices.... More

Recommended by friends for the menu variety we thought we would try O&B . Upon arriving to O&B staff were very welcoming. Menu has lots of decent variety. Calamari was good. Tacos were fair but nothing memorable. Duck was overlooked, tough to chew. The Special on the Saturday was Surf & Turk- short rib & prawns. Short rib was tender,... More

We went here to celebrate a reunion of officemates who used to work at 33 Yonge Street. We knew this place when it was Shopsy's. The décor and atmosphere was modern yet cozy. The reception was friendly. But we came across our first server who took our drink order as very sharp, snooty and in a rush. Granted we came... More

We have eaten at many of the O&B restaurants and have always found the menus interesting, ambience fun and service very professional. This was absolutely the worst experience. Inattentive server, late food, mediocre food at best and we had to ask for our bill 5 times, before finally getting up and finding the manager to help. Even one of the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
