We were 4 hours early for our flight home so we decided to get some drinks and food at this deli. The food was great and the service was prompt, the waitress that served us was amazing and kept an eye on our drinks and made us feel totally welcome, wish I knew her name as she was amazing.

After seeing this place on DDD and Dragons Den, what a let down. Service was great, no issues! My corned beef sandwich was less the good, it was boring! We were a table of 4, and all of us asked the same question...."what's the big deal with this place" This place gets my "lunch Bag Letdown" AVIOD and go to... More

Came in from Denver CO. But Toronto born and for the first time had bad service and the food was less than good. Very disappointed as I looked forward to my visit....toast was burnt, brought the wrong order and never brought the beverage I ordered. Sorry you aren't what you used to be

We were greeted by a charming young lady who answered my question about the old church across the street and then our server Michael, equally charming and very knowledgable about the menu and describing their beers! My friend loved his Reubenator and loved your beer! I really enjoyed the great server and his friendly, lovely manner, a great day to... More

We had just arrived at Kensington market and we hunted out the deli I had heard about this place and all the reviews were good, it is not a regular deli by no means we sat on the patio and it was nice out there compared to the stuffy deli, I had the smoked meat sandwich and my wife had... More

We both had smoked meat sandwiches, both of which were tender and tasty. However, the service was about as poor as I have ever experienced. She was friendly enough, but it took forever to get extra items and especially in bringing the check. I shudder to think what things must be like during the weekday lunch rush.

We always plan our trip to Toronto around a meal here. We love the food and find the service to be as expected. Look at the menu before you go to make sure it looks good to you.

In my teenage son's opinion the turkey clubsky sandwich was the best he had ever tasted. Salt beef top quality too. Glad we found you.

Many have said it before me and better than me, but this place has the best smoked meat sandwich in Toronto. Try it with an order of latkes with sour cream. To die for.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
