Went for lunch and the restaurant was not overly busy. I ordered the California grilled chicken mixed salad which was great with pine nuts and curled beets!!! My husband ordered the Asiago-chicken Caesar salad but they forgot to include the chicken. By the time they brought the chicken my husband had finished his salad but they brought him the chicken... We did not realize this was a chain restaurant when we went to dinner but were pleasantly surprised with menu and quality of food. Pub style menu with lots of starters, burgers, steaks, fish, pasta, salads. My colleague had the fish and chips and the serving was huge. I had a burger and a salad and both were very good.... More

we were disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. It was very loud and the food was average. However, our waiter Logan was exceptional.

Visited for lunch - the service was a bit slow but it didn't bother us because we were not in a hurry. My husband had seared tuna and advocado sandwich which he said was delicious and I had a salad sorry can't remember the name of it but it had strawberries, and malted peacan nuts with goats cheese and chicken,... Visiting friends in Toronto with endless food choices.Trying to find a restaurant that will please 4 quirky adults isn't always easy. Then throw in a Raptors game! Every place was packed and we ended up on Front St at Jack Astor's. Even though it was packed as well, we got a table immediately. The menu was just a little than... More

John St bops as the pavement tables fill up on a spring evening. Jack Astor's serves a variety of food, but specialises in chicken wings. They're marinaded for 24 hours and then cooked and served in a secret sauce which comes in a variety of hotness (as in spicy). Messy, spicy, fun and delicious! Don't worry - they supply loads... We ate here after visiting the Scotiabank cinema which is across the road. The place is big with tables on ground and first floor as well as quite a few tables outside. The atmosphere was lively - due in part to a Raptors game on TV - and the place was busy but not overly noisy. The menu has all... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
