Terrible service manager, food was mediocre, lots of bugs. Was told by heavy handed on duty manager he didn't care about our complaints because " we have all the workers with such and such coming here "! Would not return.

The service and the servers were excellent; very knowledgeable and friendly. The food, however, was average. The prices are very reasonable and they do have good selection. The croutons in the Caesar salad were soggy, as if they had been in the salad for a long time. The fish and ships was a good buy for the quantity and quality... More

Great place to come for a beer on the patio. The inside looks like a nice bar to come to as well. We just shared nachos but I look forward to coming back for dinner. Lots of great choices on the menu. I am really impressed with the patio. It's right on the river with a nice view of the... More

Food was very bland. Our usual bike trip for dinner and was very disappointing diner. No sure if the owners or the cooking staff are the same. No seasoning on the calamari, bland fish and chips, no dressing on the Cole slaw. All 4 side dishes had to be replaced because they were not sanitized.. Totally unacceptable and most likely... More

It's a pub atmosphere with multiple TV's, a pool table, attentive service, and great food. It's never been packed with we go after curling on Friday evenings so that is a bonus. Their steak sandwich, fish and chips, burgers, soup have all been delicious! Someone at the next table ordered some wings and they looked and smelled delish - something... More

One of my favorite places, have been many many times. Located at the mouth of the Don River in an industrial area that would be a good set for Mad Max, it's a great place to literally get away from it all right downtown. Free parking. A huge open room with comfortable arm chairs and a pool table at one... More

After many great experiences, we will never go back. We sent back a food item that was clearly not good. We were offered the opportunity to swap it for another item which we agree to, but were then told that because the other item was a couple of dollars more we couldn't have it. The back and forth that resulted... More

What a great place!! I had organized a group of ladies for a day out at the Christmas Market, and really didn't want to eat where we would feel rushed or ignored because of how busy the market was. So,I made a reservation, as this is a short walk from the distillery district. It couldn't have been a better choice.... More

I organized a work lunch here before we headed to mini-golfing down the street. I was able to make a reservation and everything was ready as soon as we arrived. Everyone enjoyed the food (typical pub food) and I was able to order something gluten free. Service was quick and friendly and I would come back again - perhaps to... More

With voracious Sunday morning appetites we decided to indulge in the offerings of the Keating Chanbnel Pub. It was near noon and as we approached the pub it had the resemblance of a deserted cottage except for an OPEN sign in the window indicating there was life inside. Indoors the cavernous, dimly lit room reflected shades of black making it... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
