We trusted reviews on Trip Advisor when choosing our lunch destination today and we were not disappointed!! We shared the buffalo shrimp appetizer which was delicious, (we saw another table order the buffalo sauce on the side and I would recommend doing this so the shrimp stay crispy!). I had the jerk chicken mango salad and it was amazing. The... More

Very poor quality food. The worst burger in my memory. The salad had slices of avocado that were half rotten. When my wife complained the server said that the recent delivery were all like that. Very regretable.

This was originally a mainly student pub ('Rowers') that several years ago was upgraded to a gourmet pub. In addition to standard pub fare, there are a variety of more upscale daily specials, usually about 6. These are often both imaginative and tasty. There is also a wide selection of local and regional craft beers on tap. usually including some... More

Located near the university, this place offers great food at fair prices including a nice selection of craft beers. I had the Hobart Burger and it was fantastic! The service was good, and it was very busy with a great pub atmosphere with people of all ages. In fact, you might want to make a reservation if on s busier... More

One of my favourite restaurants in the city for sure! Food and service could not be better!! I recommend the french onion soup (best I have EVER had) and the mac-n-cheese -- but anything you order will be amazing!! Good spot if you are looking for affordable dining, good sized portions, good drinks and hearty food!! I JUST LOVE IT!!

It's a pub but it's also a place where nice people congregate. The chef is good and the dishes are skilfully made and artfully plated. There are many good beers on tap and their monthly cask offering. Prices are just a tad above moderate but the meal is well worth its cost. A great place for fine food and picking... More

The server was amazing, such a gentleman . Very bad food experience, where they did not let us pay the bill. It's all I can say...

I always like the casual feel of this place. It is conveniently located close to Spadina and a very popular place. It is a noisy place but that is because it is appropriate for chats with friends without a rushed service. Great staff, attentive. Servers will not bother you at all.The menu is small but it matches the casual spirit... More

Friendly, professional and attentive service. Beautiful food. I had the Hoser burger with a GF bun that was no trouble at all. Wide range of beers and it's obviously popular as there were groups arriving regularly for lunch right up to when we left at 2pm.

We stumbled across this place whilst wandering the streets after Sunday church. The staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. As Aussies in a strange land they offered us beer tastings to help us find a draft ale to our liking. The Hoser Burger was delicious $16 served with ample chips & coleslaw & they were able to do this on... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
