As we tend to avoid overpriced hotel breakfasts, we visited here twice on the recommendation of TA reviews We were staying at the Novotel, less than 5 mins around the corner. We were not left disappointed on either visit. Not a huge menu as some comment - but certainly more than enough to satisfy all but the most picky. Service... More

This place is off the beaten path for travelers, but well worth the short walk. We stayed at Bond Place Hotel and decided to trying a place that locals would eat at rather than the tourist brunch locations. This place had a phenomenal menu that was cheap. I got the basic eggs, bacon and toast, but my friend got the... More

well if you are looking for a healthy breakfast then this might not be your place. Their breakfast s loaded with soaked in butter bread and Potatoes. The service is great and the food comes fast, and they customize your plate as you want, but I left the place hungry since the portions are very small and the bread was... More

Hank's is a great little place to have breakfast. Friendly staff, just sit where you want and they'll take good care of you. The breakfast sandwiches on ancient grain bread are what I'd recommend.

Found this place on Trip Advisor. Limited menu compared to some breakfast establishments but what we did order was well cooked and tasty. Nicely presented restaurant and good friendly service. Would definitely visit again if in Toronto.

During our stay in Toronto we were lucky enough to find this gem at walking distance from our hotel. The staff was lovely and very attentive. The food was superb. We recommend the Eggs Poutine which were so good that we ended up coming back for brunch for the duration of our visit. The Cesar and Virgin Cesar were fantastic.... More

Delicious food, an excellent menu, lovely staff...and all at a very affordable price. You just can't beat Hanks! Stop by for brunch and indulge in the breakfast poutine. You'll thank me later.

A perfect brunch spot every day of the week! Lovely helpful staff that recognizes you, this makes me feel extra welcome. Plenty of options even with dietary restrictions. Affordable prices! No reason no to try it. It can get really busy but the line up never takes long.

We ate here for breakfast and enjoyed the bright welcoming atmosphere and super friendly staff. The food is amazing, large portions, french fries are delicious. Coffee super good. They never rushed us out when we were done even though there were people waiting for vacant tables. I highly recommend.

We had brunch here and it was great. Tasty food, creative (try their sweet potatoe soup, it's wonderful), fresh, good service. I'll be back.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
