We picked this place because we were searching for an affordable restaurant close to Second City, and since we both like Indian food, this seemed like a god option. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous without being overly filling, and the food was delicious with just enough spice. Highly recommend for Indian food in Toronto or if you're catching a... A good Indian restaurant that works for those who likes it not too spicy. One table has a great view on the kitchen (up to 8 persons). Nothing fancy but a safe bet if you are around.

I went here for two business lunches, on with their summerliceous menu and then again with their regular menu. Both times the food was fantastic. I went both times with people from India and they commented on how authentic the food was. I like spicy food and was not disappointed. I actually liked the the regular menu better than the... More

Our family stopped in late in a Friday evening after a Blue Jays game. The food was really tasty and flavourful - not overly spicy. 3 mains, a rice and a naan were enough to feed us without being uncomfortably full. Nice decor. The service was fine, not amazing but not bad at all. The prices were reasonable. We would... More

I cannot say enough how great this food was. It's not over the top powerful, it's the perfect mix of spice and season... I had the sampler to get a feel and while I had hope for more sauce I was thrilled with what I had. The Naan to go along with it, just perfect!

Went for dinner with my husband and we love Indian food, at home in London and abroad. The naan, rice and mushroom main dishes were excellent. The chicken kebab starter wasn't so delicious but I guess some dishes are better than others, as with most restraunts. Attentive staff, nice setting and relaxing evening- if you are craving a curry give... More

259 Host is truly fine Indian cuisine. The venue is warm, contemporary and inviting. The staff is gracious and very helpful, especially when you find all the great options before you. I enjoyed the murg lababdar, naan and raita. All were amazing!

The food was very good, the place was nice and the service was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend it! The only slightly negative side was that the portions weren't huge..

Went here for dinner, the restaurant was surprisingly dark, making it hard to make out the ingredients of the food. The appetizers were delicious and the nan bread was amazing. Sadly enough the mains were a bit boring; average spicy curries without surprises. I think they could do better, maybe the kebabs and other dishes are more interesting. Would probably... More

Awesome Indian restaurant. Food is best make me remind of India. Service is also great. We were 3 friends arrived bit late on friday without reservation but still got the table without any delay although the restaurant was pretty full. Overall best restaurant to have Indian food with best service.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
