Really good food and wine, it's super cozy inside, I especially like the bar seating. Their backyard is great in the summer.

This is a good place to go for an informal meal and drinks. We sat at the bar and had the burger ($19), a bit expensive, but, perfectly made. The service was friendly and efficient. There a good wine list, but, the wine is expensive, it would be better if they stocked a lower priced wine as well as the... More

Went after Jays game with a group of 18 but had a reservation! Didn't feel out of place in our Jays attire. The food was excellent; hats off to the chef, and he came out to meet us afterwards. It was nice to have a sampling of different appetizers, entrees and deserts, and we were quite full when all said... More

As a friend once said to me at Harbord Room, "It's adults out having dinner!". This is that rare thing: a cozy spot with great food where you can actually hold a conversation comfortably. They have a small menu but include choices for most eating preferences: vegetarian, meat, fish. So lucky to have this close by my place!

When looking to celebrate a special occasion this is one of our "go-to" spots. This visit was just for a casual dinner with friends. We were not disappointed. Having been closed for a Spring sprucing up, the restaurant itself was fresh. The new Spring Menu was the usual excellent choices from across the board. We started with drinks. All of... More

The BF and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with some truly amazing food, and The Harbord Room delivered! Initially, we couldn't get a reservation, but were offered spots at the bar upon arrival. However, when we got there, the hostess very graciously found a spot in the patio in the back, but with a 15 min wait. Perfect, since... More

My love affair started 3 years ago after it being listed in Toronto's top 25 burgers. First time was on the patio in the back, so quaint and small. Romantic little hideaway in the middle of the city. The menu was really intriguing but I was there for the burger. A few oysters wouldn't ruin the day however. Cleaned and... More

Ate here on a Friday night in November 2015 with my wife. Fancy Canadian pub fare. Good charcuterie board. Good burger. My wife's Moroccan braised beef was delicious. Great wine and beer selection (Muskoka Harvest Ale on tap was a treat). Reasonable prices for Toronto. Relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend this to others and would return. For those who... The burger here is SICK! One of the best burgers I have ever had! The burgers are made fresh to order. Very juicy and full of flavor. The ketchup is homemade and has a nice zesty taste to it. A must try for any burger snob! You will need to make a reservation or come in at 5:00PM when they... More

Four of us had the best time and great food! The staff are awesome and the chef superb. I had a special, the best cod dish I have tasted in ages, cooked to absolute perfection..a lick your plate clean experience (I held back!). Wonderful cocktails, oysters, scallops, octopus salad, calamari (delicate slices) We had a side dish of sprouts, yum!... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
