Was hoping for more authentic and home made Italian - bread was French loaf and not really fresh. Pasta accompanying the mains was not fresh; appearance and taste similar to boxed version (had veal piccata and veal masala accompanied by pasta). Both mains missed the mark; masala was bland; picata overpowered by lemon. Apps were quite good (minestrone soup and... More

I have enjoyed two visits to this restaurant for lunch. Quiet, gracious environment. Good food. Salmon, seafood pasta dishes were very good. Brought home the meatball spaghetti dish that my husband enjoyed. Very generous servings. Highly recommend for business and/or personal pleasure.

Frascati! A little gem on Quiet Elm Street. Our Polish server who is a partner owner was magnificent. She took her time to explain the wine selection and dinner menu! Help me understand the differences of wine- region.

Nice quiet place for a peaceful lunch. Good choices available for Italian food. Nice service though there is slight wait time.

Frascati has become our regular dinner favourite when we’re in Toronto. During a stay in the city in June of this year, we discovered the Frascati restaurant, which is just steps from the Chelsea hotel. Dinner was great then and we’ve returned on two subsequent visits without disappointment. We’ve started each dinner with grilled calamari and the Caprese salad. The... More

I went to Frascati with a group of 25, they had all our tables ready when we arrived. The dinners were very good, everyone enjoyed their meals, ranging from salmon, steak, to different pastas. They were very accommodating to small changes even though we were on a fixed menu (since we were a large group). As the evening went on,... More

For an evening meal, this small Italian restaurant has a cosy atmosphere, and is very close to the Chelsea hotel where we were staying. We both started with mussels. They were fine, but a little rubbery - maybe cooked too long. I concluded I prefer musssels just cooked quickly in white wine and seasonngs until they open. My husband chose... More

This restaurant was a welcome find in an area of mostly fast food outlets. We dined on one evening and the restaurant was quite busy. We were warmly welcomed and the service and whole environment was relaxed and friendly. Our food was full of flavour and well cooked, I fully recommend the chicken marsala, the Tiramisu was one of the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
