Great burger and awesome poutine

Probably one of the best burgers in Town and the poutine is absolutely delicious. There is a good variety of options for the burgers and so far the quality has never let us down. The patty is juicy and the bun cooked perfectly. We love Big Smoke!

Thank you for your personal recommendations! Our lamb burger is a staff favourite too - fresh, juicy lamb, handcrafted daily with our house-made cilantro-feta spread, and fresh iceberg lettuce and tomato! The texture, flavour and quality of our organic beef is also hard to match - great choices! More

Anyone who takes their burgers seriously knows the key to a great burger is great toppings. Big Smoke does not disappoint - great selections of toppings not to mention sides and drinks. Veggie burgers can be hit or miss, but this one is definitely a hit. The topper was the service -- the staff are friendly and helpful without being... More

We checked into the King Edward Omni Hotel across the street and wanted something hearty to eat. We started walking and saw the Big Smoke Burger across the street. The dining room was full of wood floors and tables which added a warm ambiance to the room. There were already a few other patrons eating their meals and they looked... More

Big Smoke Burger at King and Portland is proof of how far the humble hamburger has come since the days of the mass-produced, factory-frozen fast food products of the international chains and those burnt black hockey pucks your dad used to grill in the backyard. While the so-called gourmet burger isn't hard to find nowadays in Toronto, those served up... More

Last time we went here, we were served undercooked burgers. They were really gross. A mouthful of bloody juice in the first bite. I was really surprised, given that all this restaurant offers is hamburgers. Staff apologized profusely and offered us different hamburgers, but we were too put off to eat anything. I emailed management about it, but received no... More

This restaurant was a nice find on our trip to Toronto. They have an interesting variety of burgers. It is a semi-fast food restaurant. You place your order at the counter and they prepare it fresh for you, which took about ten minutes to make. Would definitely recommend. The cost was about $ 15 for a burger and fries.

Thank you for letting us know about your Big Smoke experience! You are absolutely right; we have Ontario AAA ground chuck beef, organic beef, fresh Ontario lamb, chicken and veggie burgers too! Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
