About
A peculiar little bistro called mirepoix. We serve a little breakfast, and some lunch, but mostly brunch. We serve quality, handmade and freshly baked dishes, focussing on local, seasonal and organic items (wherever possible). Our small, ever changing, blackboard menu is full of fresh, made to order dishes from meat and potatoes to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free friendly options. We are presently offering, indoor seating, some takeaway & if the weather is nice, the p’tit patio is open on weekends <3

I had no idea this place did breakfast. A friend suggested we go one day for breakfast. I love breakfast. She had the vegetarian skillet and I had the classic breakfast. The service was good, friendly and polite. I asked for something to be switched and they kindly did it. The food arrived at the table beautifully presented. Very impressed. The portions are generous too, which was appreciated. The food was delicious also. However, I was slightly disappointed by three things: firstly I had to ask for ketchup; it was not offered. There was no offer of marmalade or jam to go with the buttered toast which I found very strange (next time I will bring my own). Lastly, I had a smallish glass of apple juice and was dismayed to find it cost $7. But we were not rushed even tho' there was a lineup outside and I also greatly appreciate that. This restaurant is small but beautifully decorated and it reminds me of The Yellow Pear (also in St. Catharines) with aa similar type of menu and cost.

Came from Mississauga to check this place out after my boss could not stop raving about it. Glad I took his recommendation! Food, service & decor are all amazing. Staff are super hospitable, the food is as fresh as it gets and it’s a beautiful location. If it was closer to home, I’d go every chance I got. Lobster Benedict was perfect and our server suggested blood orange juice that was squeezed literally minutes prior. Check it out before more people find out about it and you can’t get a table! This is how food and hospitality should be!

The quality of offerings here makes it one of the few spots in St. Catharines for brunch where you really struggle to decide what to have, because you want it all.
Food, service, presentation and overall charm of this restaurant make it a gem of a place. The breads tasted home made and the Classic breakfast was the best one we’ve ever had in the region. Tables can be Reserved ahead, which is both nice and recommended.

This small little place is BIG on originality and amazing dished. We stumbled upon this place and were so totally thrilled with all the various original breakfast/brunch ideas.
We had a group of 6 and they were very accommodating and made sure our meals came out at the same time. It's a little Gem for St. Catharines and we will be back again and again!!

I love finding restaurants that don't look like much from the outside, but blow you away with their food. Bistro Mirepoix is that kind of place! I had the lobster eggs bene and it was not only beautiful to look at, but tasted amazing! Others at our table had the big breakfast which comes with a twist - pork belly. It's these kinds of surprises that make it well worth your while to visit. The space is small, so I'd reserve ahead. Staff were really friendly and upbeat. They make you feel like you've come home, which makes sense given that this cafe is in a cosy bungalow.

Mirepoix is one of those great finds that leaves you longing to return again and again. Don’t let the mirrored windows and tucked away front door deceive you. This is an oasis with casually comforting ambiance, personable service and delicious food. Although it usually serves breakfast and lunch only (both great) there are special occasions when they also hold dinners; our most recent (and very satisfying) experience there. Definitely worth visiting St. Catharines to discover this gem!

The wife wanted to try the Mirepoix in St.Catharines for a breakfast/ brunch. We went on Saturday September 4,2021. From the outside it looks unassuming and almost a hole in the wall type place. Once entering I wasn’t prepared for what would take place. First off you feel the trendy vibe this place has with the eclectic style they offer. The staff were so welcoming and professional and could be examples to the bigger “chain” places around. I ordered the breakfast classic which came with 2 eggs sunny side up, 1 sausage patty, fingerling potatoes, pork belly and baked beans with sourdough toast. The wife ordered the Lobster Florentine Eggs Benedict
butter + lobster + hollandaise plus a side of pork belly. During the meal the staff always checked on us and offered refills. I can easily say that the “Breakfast Classic “ was the best breakfast I literally have ever eaten in my entire life. My wife echoed this sentiment on her selection as well. I know this statement sounds excessive but there is no doubt in my description of the quality of this food. People near and far need to come for themselves to sample this 5 star quality cuisine in this out of the way place.

This little bistro in an odd area offers THE BEST breakfast/ brunch/ lunch in Niagara. It's quaint, yet fun. The service is impeccable and sweet ( you'll get it when you go) Mirepoix is one of my favorite restaurants hands down. If Anthony Bourdain were here, he'd be proud.

I am a repeat customer of Bistro Mirepoix, and went this morning with my father, who wanted to sample the menu because it includes something of a novelty in Canada, pork belly, an item he enjoyed as a child in depression-era Georgia. He was delighted with his meal, the staff, and ambiance. I can add that the menu is creative and varied, and includes very high-quality ingredients from local sources. The owner and his staff are warm and congenial, helpful with decision-making, and humorous. I know I will return soon!

I heard about this restaurant from my daughter who loves it so I decided to give it a try with a friend. The unassuming exterior does not even begin to hint at the amazing food and great service offered within. My friend ordered the Braised Brisket Benedict and could not stop raving about how tender and delicious it was. I had the sourdough waffles with apples and almonds and cranberries so yummy. We ended up sharing our meals. No cookie cutter recipes here...only creative, tasty, well presented meals! I highly recommend this fabulous dining experience.

After seeing this restaurant had numerous 5 star reviews, we were looking forward to trying it out. We were surprised that all of the breakfast options were $25. For 2 people for breakfast (meal plus coffee) the total bill was $80. The food was good but not fabulous considering the hefty price. The outdoor space was also disappointing. Hard chairs with slatted wooden tables that were weathered, worn and rickety. Definitely not a 5 star breakfast experience.

Charcuterie very disappointing...$80 ?!? for 4 people ? Wow
Why people choose to run a restaurant to cheat clientele will always be a mystery
Successfully Failed ! There are many others in the area that create a Charcuterie Box/Board that Far Exceeds this immature attempt . The 1 out of 5 rating would only be for the attempt nothing more . As polite a comment as I can muster .

We enjoyed an amazing breakfast and terrific service. Pork Belly Benedict.. scrumptious totally recommend it! “Chef classic” be prepared for a feast of homemade classic goodness.. the plate that just kept giving you more. Fresh squeezed orange juice was refreshing and delicious. The coffee was incredible. Treat yourself, a loved one or just book a table to have an amazing meal with friends or family. The ambiance and staff will make you feel welcome and you’ll definitely go back for more.. thank you for such a wonderful treat today. #hiddengem #newhotspot

When Mirepoix opened, I was so excited, and was their first reservation! Since then, I’ve come countless times and made loyal customers out of many family members and friends. The food is delicious, with a varied menu of high quality seasonal options. I have never been disappointed. Try the Lobster Benedict, it’s my absolute fave! (Lobster bene and avocado toast with smoked salmon pictured).

You must visit Bistro Mirepoix if you’re in the area (or even a little bit close). Unique dishes are cooked to perfection and served by a friendly team in a charming bistro. The decor, the music, and the art all come together with the food to make it a great experience.
