I had walked by this restaurant a thousand times and always stayed away because of the red neon lights and that it titles itself as "Upscale" - if you have to put it in the name, you know it cant be true. I went with girlfriends and had a pleasant time. Drinks, wine, service and food was fast and delicious. A bit unsure about the gender diversity as there appeared to be only males employed. The menu physically disappointed as it was laminated and really only had 2 pages of pasta dishes. I dont eat pasta so it left me with limited options, however I still enjoyed my dish - just a slight caution if you dont feel like pasta. Overall cute and engaging server - they just need to up their outter appearance a bit

The food is very good, I had chicken parmigiana and my husband had ravioli gorgonzola. Both dishes were really good, the tomato sauce tasted really fresh. We also shared a caesar salad, it was a great size for two, really tasty and a fair price. The only disappointment was the service. Our server was barely polite, not friendly at all, didn’t smile once, no nice words, it felt like he hated being there. We didn’t feel welcomed. We were surprised after reading so many good reviews about how friendly the staff are. Customer service in a restaurant is very important Tosca!

Convenient downtown location and good COVID-19 safety measures! Friendly and attentive staff. Wine menu is great. Food was delicious. We had seafood soup and rack of lamb. The portions were generous. If we knew the lamb would be thin, we would have ordered medium-rare. It was still great. But I would order medium-rare next time. The bowl of seafood soup was huge and tasty! We had lemon pie and espresso to conclude our meal. We would certainly come back to try more next time.

I should have realised there was a reason why an almost adjoining restaurant was packed this lunchtime whilst Tosca was almost empty. On viewing its menu it soon became apparent that its information on Open Table was significantly out of date as the prices of most mains were around $10 more than online whilst there was no evidence of lunch specials served with salad and soup. When I asked about lunch specials a rather surly waiter simply said no. A burrata salad was enjoyed by my wife. But a veal parmigiana featured a breaded piece of meat covered in a tomato paste and a slice of cheese accompanied by spaghetti bolognese. It felt like two unconnected dishes mistakenly chosen from a naff buffet. Both were prosaic and fairly tasteless. The appropriate dish would have been to have served a thin slice of breaded veal with spaghetti in a tomato sauce. Tod a advertises Tuscan sophistication but judging by this dish provides instead American gunk. The butter served with complimentary bread was rancid in its little plastic packs. A glass of Italian wine, however, not only hit the spot but was reasonably priced.

We managed to get the last reservation of the night for 8 pm, everything else was booked solid. We arrived at the restaurant and there were proper covid protocols in place. The Server was fantastic We asked about the wine list and said the owner was very knowledgeable about their wines on the menu, I advised what we liked and they sent 2 sizeable tastings for us to try before we made our choice. The 2017 Cabernet Savignon Wolfblass Yellow lable from South Australia was our choice. The Bruscetta appetizer was amazing, great tasting and well seasoned. The main courses of Manicotti and Canneloni were outstanding and portion sizes were plentiful. I would highly recommend you try this authenticate Italian restaurant, this was what my girlfriend wanted to have fir her 50th birthday dinner and we were not disappointed.

I am used to my wife's great Italian cooking and the food at Tosca's is impressively delicious and authentic. I had the Penne Fortunato and found it absolutely delightful. Pasta al dente, rich and flavorful sauce, sausages nicely seasoned, tender in generous quantities. The dish was served with a bit of oily hot peppers that you would find at Mistos or Nicastro in the right amount, this is not typically found in other Italian eateries (not too hot, don't worry :) Nice serving dishes and knowledgeable waiters added to the overall experience. My work colleagues ordered the chicken parmigiana and were impressed by the generous portion, taste and overall value. Other colleagues ordered personal pizzas and they looked amazing with generous toppings. I've been to Tosca about 5 times now and the experience is a resounding success each time.

Service was good! Food was fresh and tasty. Very average however for Ottawa didn't blow our minds. Only complaint was that we ordered a bottle of white wine and it was brought to the table quite warm. Server opened it anyway and tried to pour it. We asked for more ice, were not able to drink it until our food arrived. I do think they should have brought us a cold bottle immediately, that was quite disappointing. Would I return? Maybe... but would probably make the trip to Preston first.

Seafood pasta was good. Margarita pizza was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. I think they had buffalo cheese on it and the crust was moist and a little translucent, just the way I like it. It’s in the business district so there’s so ambience around unfortunately with Covid and no one working. We were there at 6:30. Good music. Wish the area was better

Wouldn’t go here again. My pasta tasted like the sauce was from a jar. Definitely did not taste authentic at all!! Pretty sure my moms veal parm was from a box. Definitely not authentic. Server was great. However, there was a party on the other side and the restaurant was playing rap music (there were elderly couples dining, I’m sure they didn’t appreciate this music). Other staff were walking around without masks.

Not great. Had spaghetti bolognese. The pasta was well-cooked, al dente. But the sauce was bitter, watery, not much meat. Also ordered the bruschetta: overpriced, the bread was over-toasted (burnt at the edges). Pleasant service. I didn't hate it but won't go next time I am in Ottawa.

Went to Tosca to have a relaxing dinner to start our mini staycation. While the mains were good, the service was lacking. Our server was attentive to refilling our wine glasses - I think he was hoping for a second bottle. He cleared my dining companion’s plate while I was still eating - both during our appetizer and for the main. He also missed after dinner drinks for being inattentive. Not sure I would return.

We had a private room in the 'vault'. It was nice - not spectacular - but nice. Service was really good and the food yummy. For a nicer place, I was really impressed with the size of the portions. The grilled calamari appetizer was, easily, meal sized. But. conversely, I feel the portion size as kind of a negative too - its a personal preference, but I like smaller portions.

We had a lovely evening out starting with the chacuterie board and then seafood risotto and chicken picatta. All were delicious. We had to ask for water, not offered. Menus are reused (cleaned between uses?) which is not usual with Covid and the appetizer silverwear was hand placed by the server on a sideplate for use with the main course. Think that should have been replaced. Hand sanitizers on the table would be a good idea. Nevertheless, we will be back. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service.

We made a reservation here, I ordered the lasagna. The lasagna was not very good, very cheesy and bland tasting. Both my husband and I wouldnt eat it. I told the server we did not like it. We were not expecting a refund but just kindness, we didn't get it. In fact we got a rude stare. Restaurants who pretend that customers matter are annoying, we obviously dont. If we did the server would have at least said I'm sorry to hear that. Nothing like that. In my opinion, don't go here, there are better places.

We were very disappointed that the restaurant did not follow covid safety measures. Multiple staff members were taking their masks off while mixing drinks and coughing. They allowed customers to walk throughout the restaurant without masks. Couldn’t focus on the meal because it was so apparent that nobody cared about safety. The only reason I am giving some stars is because our server was fantastic.
