My friends and I hang out here for food and drinks before hockey games. It's a great, character filled place amidst newer and trendier places around Landsdowne. One can feel the decades of stories in the place!

Sit down at Irene's and you really get the feeling that you're ensconsing yourself in a well-varnished clean yet storied part of Ottawa's musical and bacchanalian past. Utterly unpretentious, well-stocked with beer and above-par bar food, a locus of the local music scene, Irene's is...More

I'm biased because I actually live down the street from this pub, but I love to go to enjoy fish and chips or their amazing veggie burger. Lots of great local music. Wonderful brunch but be forewarned they only open at 11am. If you're a...More

We've eaten at Irene's a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Typically, we're there for brunch on a Saturday, and we've tried a variety of meals. All were very good, from standard bacon and eggs to burgers to sandwiches. The service is very...More

I have been out of the country for 15 years but upon my return I went to Irene's right away. It's a proper, unpretentious pub in the heart of a neighborhood full of snazzy new spots without any soul. I am happy to say I...More

Irene's has a relaxed atmosphere with a secluded outside deck. There are often concerts on Wednesday at 8 p.m. On Thursday there is an open blues stage with free admission. On weekends there is entertainment after 9 p.m., with a varying cover charge.

Irene's is something of a local legend in Ottawa, home to live music some week nights, trivia nights and the like. It boasts old wooden table tops carved with past drinkers' initials and messages - nothing elegant about this joint. But the beer selection is...More

We stopped by Irene's to grab a quick bite before attending an event at TD Place, just a couple blocks away. We were able to find a seat but it was crammed, and the tables were very close together. Though it took a while for...More

Well-known local venue for live music. Irene's has been in business since 1985. Fully accessible with accessible washroom on ground floor, just ask anyone in bar to help by positioning wheelchair ramp at entrance for access. We also have a secret patio out back open during warmer weather, car and bus exhaust free and private. Great food and kitchen open till midnight.
