Booked a work party on a Tuesday evening, there were 15 of us. We had only one server tending to our group, plus she was helping the bartender in the front. We waited so long for our drinks, she couldn't keep up to the refills. Our food came out at different times, some of us were done eating by the... More

Showed up at approximately 6:40 for dinner with my family. Was expecting it to be busy for a Friday night but nope. I think I figured out why it wasn't busy. They didn't have any beer on tap????? I ask for a cider, we don't have that either???? Who the heck doesn't make sure their bar is well stocked going... More

Pre booked a table of 16 people. Took over 1.5 hrs for first two people to get food. Last person at table got their food around 30 minutes after first person. Waitress apologized at end of service instead of telling group what was going on during service. Some errors were made in kitchen. Bartender did not help at all. Manager... More

I've been to the Thirsty Monk 3 times now, so I can honestly say I gave it a nice forgiving shot. Visit 1: Busy night, and they had obviously crammed as many tables as possible into the restaurant (uncomfortable for everyone), there was a Generals Game so there was a limited menu which was OK by me because I was... From what I understand this place has new owners and the growing pains are showing. On two seperate occasions I've had hair in my food. Once mixed in with fries and the second time baked into the cheese on a sandwich. Both times we told the server and both times the bill came being charged full price. The first time... More

My husband and I went here on a Thursday evening. I was a bit worried as the place was almost empty at 8:00 in the evening. We seated ourselves at a booth near the front of the pub. Apparently it was Karaoke night, and they were getting set up. Our server tore herself away from the guys she was chatting... More

Went with a group of 8 before a concert. Service was good but our food came out at different times. Was over cooked. Worse wings I have ever had. Fries were overcooked and dark. They really need some help in the kitchen.

We stopped in on Nov. 17 prior to a concert at the G.M. centre and we were disappointed. The menu is VERY limited on concert nights and none of us enjoyed our meals much. My Monk burger was about as dry and overcooked as could be and the fish and chips was not much better. We won't be back.

The Thirsty Monk is a lively local pub in downtown Oshawa on Celina Street, close to the General Motors Centre and the Regent Theatre. It has a good variety on the menu and the prices are competitive with other local pubs. The music can be a bit loud though. But it's a good location for before or after any events... More
