Average food, average prices....Food was okay. We had heard so many good things about the place so we checked it out, not impressed don't understand what the hype is all about! The beer was not cold enough

What to say? We rode out of their parking lot, so ate dinner 2 nights in a row, the appetizers were wonderful, daily specials (try the Beer and Cheese Soup!) looked great, Pizza was excellent. The staff was attentive, but not overly bothersome. Friendly fun staff members. You can buy gas there for your sled if need be-for not that... More

Have gone there in the past, the food is always good, the staff very friendly, beer is cold. They have lots of room for trucks/trailers, gas on site and the A-D trail runs through their property. Overall an excellent spot.

Good atmosphere with a varied menu for all who go. We tried poutine which are basically fries (chips) with gravy and cheese. Sounded a bit dubious but have to say they were delicious. Be warned the portions are very generous. I'm not sure where they got the chicken breast from that I had but it must have been the size... More

What a great Friendly and fun place to go on Friday, some of the best ribs in North Bay, and cold beer. When they have the pickerel special on a Saturday special, the pickerel portion is twice the size of anywhere else in town !!!

The Brandied Wild Mushroom soup was amazing! I will go back to have that soup again and to try the other soups on the menu. The chicken wings were pretty ordinary. The sauces that came with the wings were OK (the best was the Thai sauce.) Sadly, the rum cake was dry and lacking any significant rum flavour. Yet I... More

I hadn't dined at the Portage in over 15 years, and as we were in the area, we decided to give it a try. We will be giving it a miss from here on in. At least I will. I wanted the wings, so I asked if I could get a pound of just the wingettes and no drumsticks. The... More

This is a great local place in North bay. The wings are certainly some of the best ice ever had. North bay is hom to some of the best chicken wing establishments. The wings here are probably ranked the top one or two in North bay service is great and there is always lots of locals here. An affordable place... More

The atmosphere is very upbeat, the service is very good. The wings really are the best in town and a good selection of beer. Year round access for boaters or sledders. Large booths downstairs. Facilities available with separate bar for large or small gatherings at a reasonable price. BTW, the photo currently shown is definitely NOT The Portage!

Always a good night at the 'Tage. Good food, good friends, warm welcome. Nothing fancy, but you're sure to enjoy. Don't miss wing nights Tues and Fri nights. Great pizza to eat in or take out.
