The main entree was fabulous, but service was not 'fine dining'. We had to ask for our water to be replenished, we were not offered coffee or tea, after dessert it had to be requested. The desserts are locally sourced but not made in house,...appetizers and desserts were ok, nothing special. The black cod made up for the rest of the evening.More

We used to eat at the Hob Nob when they actually cooked. Doesn't seem they do that any more. Their lunch menu has very few items, and require little preparation. That is to say....anyone could prepare them. No special skill needed. Yet they presume to...be something special. The dining room is small and pleasant and the tables are fine. But that isn't enough. We'd like to see some items that require a bit of skill in preparation. You would not find that here....these days. Very disappointing. We wondered whether they were capable enough to prepare a traditional British Sunday lunch. If they did that well they'd be fully booked.More

Celebrated a birthday with brunch at HobNob. Service was perfect. Topped up coffee, scrumptious eggs Benny and we were able to get a half order of french toast. All was so delicious! Caitlin our server, was knowledgeable on the menu & provided perfect suggestions. Can't...wait to come back!More

This resto is at the far end of the main drag, closer to the lake than to the Shaw, in an area with large restored homes. Lovely setting, and the room itself was very nice, in keep with a white linen establishment. The menu was...underwhelming -- one each of fish, chicken, pasta, and beef. My companion's cod was nicely done but my seafood pasta came out lukewarm at best, which I doubt the chef intended. Poor value. Even worse, the family at the next table indulged their screaming toddler instead of removing her and our dinner turned into an endurance contest, which we lost. The room was too small to ask to be moved, so we ate and left. And won't be back.More

I'm truly sorry about your experience you had with us while you dined. Certainly valuable feedback we can use.

My girlfriend booked ahead and told them it was a special birthday dinner. We sat on the outdoor patio which had a nice west facing view of sunset and golf course. Another couple was sat down beside us, and we watched as a waiter unsolicited...brought out two glasses of Prosecco and said “we heard it’s a special occasion for your anniversary”. As they passed we retold them ours was also special for my birthday yet they didn’t bring us anything even after that. We ordered a charcuterie board to share for starters and it was brought out with four, yes four, crackers. The service was slow the whole night, my GF ordered beef tenderloin, which was terrible, and only after I got home did I realize I was billed for a wagyu steak, which she didn’t have. What she ordered was 56 dollars, and the wagyu I was billed for was 96 (my fault that I didn’t check it when paying but we were eager t leave). The service was slow and my black cod was tasteless. Very bad experience.More

Wonderful and attentive service for a busy night. Menu was well explained by our server and was accurate to the description. There was no rushing us to hurry and we felt very welcome. Tasty dishes and scrumptious desserts. Good wine list with many pricing options.

We went to the Hob Nob to celebrate our anniversary with good friends. There were only one other table in the restaurant so a real opportunity for the staff to provide first class service . Much to our surprise it was very very poor. Our...soup was lukewarm and had to be sent back my wife’sFoie Gras was cold (raw) and sent back only to be brought back cold and undercooked!! The string beans and asparagus on my trout plate were almost raw and undercook . The chef came out to apologize for my wife’s Foie Gras and offered us complimentary-desert. We all ordered what was supposed to be homemade ice cream which came with ice crystals obviously old and uneatable. The only excellent item was the 30 bench wine we ordered. This was a $200/ couple disaster. Clearly one of our favourite restaurants has lost it way and we will not be coming back.More

Great food and really good service. You don't go here for the bells and wisels some of the best restaurants you just want good food and good service and they deliver. Good simple food at a good friendly place. For those that need it they...even serve wine. This is a place that will fill you up and you will leave with a smile.More

The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular. One of us got the carbonara pasta and it was quite bland. I got a steak and it was much better. The actual restaurant is in an old mansion, attached to the Charles Inn. I can't remember our...waiter's name but he was also very nice and informative.More

Both the service and the food were horrible. We were there on Sunday, September 5, 2021 for dinner. We asked for a wine, the waitress brought an other one, saying it would be better and the same price. It was bad and more expensive. The...soup (10$) had no taste. The salmon with mash avocado came with avocado that were not mash. It was more solid than a rock. The carbonara pasta came with no sauce, the steak, even if cooked properly, had no taste. The four of us were totally disappointed. When we left, an other couple was telling to someone not to go because it was horrible. So it was not only the four of us. Since it was very expensive, it was totally inacceptable.More

Not much to say. Great food, great service. Only ordered the main course because we didn't want to get too full. Got too full regardless. Excellent fish entrees. Beautiful presentation. Dessert of chocolate creme brulee was good, not great, but we managed to eat it...all up with no problems! Food is pricey, but a great choice for an occasion.More
