Great food. Lots of local flavours. Nice, helpful staff and manager/owner. Decor/ambiance a little unusual -- even a but tired -- but apparently they are soon moving to a new location. For $80 per person you get 5 orders which can be for any course...or wine beer you might choose. Sounds complicated but works well.More

Just finished an outstanding dining and culinary experience at Weinkeller. We started with the fried goat cheese (a must try) and charcuterie board that was so impeccably paired that the flavors provided a party in your mouth moment. My husband and I both ordered pork...chops one seasoned with Maple mustard and the other blackened with apple cider reduction. While both had very different flavors, they were both exceptional. The sides made the experience even more indulging. The vegetable medley of squash and brocolli were out of this world and the potato creation was heavenly. Imagine the most amazing seasoned mashed potatoes with a golden crusting. Not sure what you call them but amazing is the first word that comes to my mind. Thankfully I left some room for the desert. I went for the fried wonton with melted chocolate on a raspberry and peach compote with vanilla ice cream and it was absolutely divine. Hubby had the creme brûlée and it was simply decadent. Having had the fortune of eating at high end restaurants over the years this experience certainly goes down as one of my favorite and I will definitely make the trip back. I would be remiss not to mention the excellent service provided by Connor. The restaurant was busy but he provided the perfect amount of attention and was highly knowledgeable on the menu and pairing advice. Five star experience all around.More

Been to this place a few times. Every time has been incredible, Bernadine was our server, such a delight as always. Asked owner Chris what he recommended, he says blackened pork chops, I’m like nah, I’ll try something else. I got the pork chops, have...never went to a restaurant and ordered pork chops in my life. Wow, such an amazing dish, my gf had the coffee crusted filet mignon, which I usually get. Was amazing as always. Thank you for an awesome experience, will definitely be backMore

Every part of our experience with this restaurant was perfect. I called to book and was treated very well, we arrived on time, the COVID protocols were respectfully administered . Our dinner was great. My husband started with the tuna appetizer which was perfect and...complemented by a sparkling wine from Strewn. He had the steak and it was cooked perfectly to order. My salmon was also cooked to perfection. The chocolate wontons for dessert were a sinful but delightful pleasure! Our server was Kaleigh and she was absolutely great. She was friendly, helpful and gave us the right amount of attention. She was welcoming, kind and helpful. In many ways she made the evening. She made us feel special. Her recommendations were thoughtful and well reasoned. You know you have a real winner when your server makes you feel like you are her only customer for the evening, they are attentive, unobtrusive, and very, very pleasant. Thank you Weinkeller and Kaleigh.More

Once again, we came from Montreal to Niagara for a couple of nights - my awesome Boyfriend had planned a spa day for us and how better to end the evening, than with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants ever! ~ Great service -...I texted the restaurant asking for a booth in Kaleigh’s section, and they confirmed right away that it would be doable :) Kaleigh is awesome, always in a good mood and knows the menu by heart from top to bottom! We also enjoy chatting with the owner, Chris, who’s always there to great people at the door. ~ We don’t have children and as such we really enjoy the “adults-only” atmosphere at Weinkeller. I was happy to receive the below notice after making my reservation through Yelp: **We are a restaurant FOR ADULTS. Although limitedly accepted... over the age of 10... We have no typical meal options or furniture for young children. A minimum charge of $65 pp is expected per HUMAN, as they are occupying a seat in the restaurant. We focus on intimacy for couples and friends and would prefer it if you didn't bring Children to Weinkeller at all Just a consideration when traveling. Children left unattended will be given High Doses of Sugar and a free puppy!!***** As childfree people we know that restaurants “for adults” are few and far between, and really I think this is something parents might appreciate even more than us. Really recommend this place for an amazing date night! And as far as the food, once again we were blown away - Boyfriend had the filet mignon and I tried the salmon with caper hollandaise this time… both his filet and my fish were melt-in-your-mouth tender and prepared perfectly. Just one thing about the sides… we’ve never asked but next time I might enquire about any possible substitution - the salmon was served with quinoa… and I don’t do quinoa… BF’s was served with mashed potatoes which he doesn’t like. That was a small thing however because we had several appetizers, and cheesecake for dessert AND drinks and so the sides were probably really unnecessary :) For appetizers I *highly* recommend the goat cheese and the oysters!! Thank you for a great night out Weinkeller, we will see you again in October!More

We enjoyed the food and service, but it wasn't fine dining as expected. The decor is nice (felt like we were dining in an old brick wine cellar) but the music was loud and didn't seem appropriate for the quiet and intimate ambiance they advertise....We brought our 10 year old, but saw several notices on the website etc about not being a restaurant for children as it's very quiet - we didn't find it quiet at all. Felt like we were having dinner in a noisy pub. We originally booked the patio but didn't like it when we got there (was a tent in the parking lot, no ambiance and no air circulation/seemed stuffy) so the server kindly found us a table inside. Our meals were good but not amazing. The wine selection was very limited, which also surprised us.More

After making a reservation on line, I get there, and stood at the door for a good 4 minutes. People were even looking at my husband and I. We decide to seat ourselves..FINALLY a young lady tells us to go back so she can check...our reservation. So First she couldn't find it, Secondly when my husband asked about the parking she said they had no more tokens..OK??? I guess because it was not that busy she decided we could stay. She sat us in the worst place and left. I looked at my husband and said let's leave. I mean if she had even some sort of a friendly customer service type of attitude I could over look everything else. NOPE...I felt like we were inconveniencing her. SO I said to my husband I don't want to stay...he got up and I left right behind him. We actually went to another restaurant in the area. Sanstone Grill House! From the moment we walked in everyone had smiles on their faces and they were all sooo friendly. So glad that we didn't stay at Weinkeller!! My 21st anniversary ended on a high for the evening. NEVER will I ever go back, nor recommend WEINKELLER!!More

We were welcomed by Chris the owner who was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Great ambiance and amazing food. The service with Trevor was spot on. We will definitely go back next time we're in Niagara Falls.

My friends and I tried to book a reservation for this weekend. The online booking system gave us the option to book for a group of 5 but when clicking through it glitched so we called in. He told us it wasn't a setting for...groups and we can't make a reservation. Right now there are no rules regarding table limits so it doesn't make sense why. I looked online for for groups of 4 and there is a lot of availability. There is no reason for him to decline so rudely.More

We appreciate that rules regarding table limits are a guideline for general businesses in Ontario. At Weinkeller we have chosen, as a restaurant, to only cater to couples getting out for an intimate dinner again. The Max Booking per table is 4 ppl so I...More

I want to begin by saying that service was great. The staff were top notch. Unfortunately this restaurant was a disappointment. Ultimately it comes down to the food and the selection of drinks (wine/beer). I would say this was average at best in terms of...taste and preparation. The fixed price structure was a bit different and maybe needs to be revisited.More
