We're picky coffee drinkers (snobs of sorts). This place is a must if you like the bean. Treats also look and taste deliciously. We were more than pleasantly surprised.

This is one of the best little cafe's in downtown Barrie. The coffee is amazing and lunches are yummy with the freshest ingredients. The owner Michelle is warm and inviting and the cafe's vibe is hip and casual. Perfect spot to meet friends to chat over coffee or food.

It was fairly busy as there were more customers. Very comfortable and casual atmosphere. Staff concerned about your opinion of the food. Really enjoyed the food, nice and fresh. Perhaps lose the music (or tone it down so we can visit) Will happily go again!

Visited Lazy Tulip when we first moved to Barrie. Not sure why we waited so long to return. Our second visit had a few hiccups, delivered the wrong food, salad not soup, but the owner was quick to apologize and I was happy to pay for the soup because it was just so delicious and mistakes happen. The mediterranean sandwhich... More

Stopped in for a Winterfest specialty hot beverage this morning ... this is a really charming little bistro cafe ... Although we just had a hot drink, the food looked amazing. We did notice something that was a bit of a turnoff ... the same hands preparing food were touching cash, with no hand washing in between food/money handling. Anyway,... More

Thanks for your review Deb!! I'm sorry but you must have missed us passing through the invisible antibacterial shield between the cash and the sandwich station! Anyway...I do hope you come back and give our food a try!! We promise to be more careful!! More

One of the only places in town that a vegan and non-vegan couple can go and each enjoy their meal. If you're into tasty, organic, vegetarian focused food . . . Michelle and her crew will put a smile on your face. Delicious homemade soups, sandwiches on fresh baked breads, daily quiche options. It's our favourite breakfast place . .... More

All the food and soups are good and the service is also good. Prices are fine but seating is a challenge as the space is cramped. Baked goods and teas are available. Ventilation is an issue expect to inhale a lot of cooking smells and it is very cold in the winter. Vegetarian and vegans are welcome and the menu... More

The atmosphere of the cafe is excellent, I felt like enjoying myself in Asia even though it was actually snowing outside. I ordered my lunch there, the ginger carrot soup was very impressive. The black eye coffee I ordered was also good and the price was reasonable comparing with those in the GTA area. They also offer large variety of... More

I often lose myself in one of the slideshows allowing myself to travel back in time & space to SE Asia, India & Mexico. And I love to share those memories! I'm glad you liked the carrot, coconut, ginger soup...it's truly one of our faves! And the Barrie Black Eye is loaded with flavour and caffeine! Thanks so much for... More

We are a quaint, soulful, independently owned cafe in the heart of downtown Barrie with a focus on fresh and conscious eating.

Open seven days a week we offer a breakfast and lunch menu that strongly emphasizes vegetarian and gluten free options along with locally raised, free range chicken. Everything is made in house including our sandwich bread which is a whole wheat focaccia & our soups which are always made gluten free.

The Lazy Tulip vibe is worldly, spiritual & funky. Music is a big part of the atmosphere which ranges from Indian tablas to local musical talent to current faves.

We serve Planet Bean coffee, a small micro-roaster from Guelph and it's full flavored, fair trade and certified organic.
