We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food at this restaurant. Food was cooked properly and presented in a appetizing fashion. Will return again soon.

By far the best food, ambiance, service, and product in barrie. If you read a bad review it would have had to be a serious off night. Either that or maybe they were bad customers. As they exist. Highly recommended place.

There is nothing that calls you inside of this restaurant from Clapperton Street in Barrie but once inside you are greeted by extremely friendly stall and rustic walls lined with local artists paintings. Our server was Jose and he didn't go out of his way to serve it was just his nature and enjoyment to do so. Our meals were... More

I went during barrielicious so the prices were a little more reasonable, but the portion sizes we're direct representations of the money you were paying. I would recommended it for a light lunch but not if you're looking to fill up for the day.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, through to our departure, we were extremely well taken-care of by a service-first staff. Add to this, outstanding food and atmosphere and we can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The braised short rib is the long-standing house specialty and is incredible. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience for our... More

Excellent location with lots of parking. The restaurant has old building ambiance with a cosy seating area. Not a huge menu but there are enough selections for everyone plus daily features. We tried the shared charcuterie platter ,very good and went beyond the typical meat cheese and pickle platter. Main course was the short rib with risotto and was fall off... More

My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner. We were a little rushed as we took our boat, and daylight was disappearing, and we didn't want to navigate at night, so we didn't get to sample their deserts. The soup was delicious, and my entree was excellent as well. We will definitely go back again when we can... More

We were quite pleased with the wonderful service provided by Jose. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with the cheese & charcuterie, as well as oysters.. For our entrées we went with the duck confit with a delicious potato gratin and the rack of lamb that was cooked perfectly. We were pleased with the quality and presentation of both dishes.... More

This was my second time to Painters Hall with my husband for an elegant dinner. We chose to have the chefs choice 8 course dinner. I was a bit nervous as I am a picky eater and not knowing was food was coming out was a little overwhelming, but we decided to try it. Our meal and experience was unbelievable,... More

Found this gem by chance in Barrie and was pleasantly surprised to find such a great a place downtown. Great ambiance, the food was outstanding, try the mussels or the chowder to start, service was perfect and both the lamb and braised ribs were fabulous. Will be back soon.
