A very rare chance to get out to dinner with my wife, sans kids, and happy to have picked this spot for our dinner choice. We visited during the Barrielicious festival, and while I was a little disappointed that they didn't have their regular menu items, our server was nice enough to suggest the items to try from the normal... We like to try to use the yearly Barrielicious to try restaurants we have not been for awhile or try something new. We have been to Painters Hall before and really enjoyed it. This last time during Barrielicious I have to say very disappointed. Feel the $150 tab I paid was wasted. They made the tomato red sauce a main... More

The food, service & decor were all wonderful. Servers were friendly, informative & prompt. Each of the dishes were expertly prepared & plated. A real treat. The only negative I have about this establishment is the acoustics. When the restaurant was full the echoing of voices made it difficult to carry on a conversation. I'm sure with a little creativity... More

We have been to the Painters Hall Bistro a few times in the last year and a half and found the atmosphere very inviting. It's cozy but cool updates make it a ooh, aah restaurant. Service is excellent as are the appetizers

We were very pleased with the service, menu and atmosphere of the restaurant. The meals were professionally plated, delicious and the service was excellent. As we are not from the area we depended upon comments from other diners on trip advisor and were very pleased with our evening. If you are planning an event in the area I would highly... More

We are staying in Barrie for the night to enjoy Canada Day celebrations and we Googled top restaurants and we selected Painters Hall Bistro. We walked to the restaurant from our B&B and the entrance to the restaurant is a long hallway with lots of paintings on display to support local artists. The restaurant was hosting a large party that... More

Knowledgable staff, consistently good food, nicely plated but most importantly tastes great. The staff care about what is placed before you. Can be quite noisy at the front, but if you want a more quiet seat, ask to sit at the back.

Looking for a unique dining experience, look no further. My wife loves the braised lamb shank. Whether a special occasion, a night out for two or a group, Painters Hall will appease. The bar in the back offers a great gathering point for a drink. And be sure to take in the paintings (hence the name) for sale on the... More
